history

Josiah has lived in Primula Town his whole life, the child of Orion and Rosa Waters; he is the youngest child out of four. After graduating high school he took some courses at a university on the mainland, but it wasn't really what he wanted to do. Given that his father was a doctor, he was pushed towards the medical field as well, both by his dad and teachers at school who knew of his parentage. And, in a town as small as Primula, everyone knew who his parents were.

So, he attended university and majored in biology, on track to get in to medical school, but Josiah didn't want to be a doctor at all. Despite having fantastic grades on his transcript, he ended up flunking the entrance exam to medical school, much to the shock of everyone. In reality, he didn't "flunk" but botched it himself so he wouldn't have to be forced to go.

His parents never knew, though, so he moved back to Sepalum and got his own place in town. For a while, he was jobless because he just didn't know what he wanted to do, but his father helped him secure a position at the hospital. Since he had no nurses training and definitely couldn't be a doctor or a tech, he is the receptionist. A receptionist with a biology degree. Josiah thinks its funny, but no one else really does. All they can see is the "wasted" potential; Joe doesn't care as much because he doesn't have to be a doctor.

• he has an apathetic nature but that doesn't mean he doesn't care about other people. even though his parents pushed him from a young age to become a doctor, he still cares for them.
  
• he comes off like a jerk to most people when they first meet him, so he doesn't have a ton of close relationships.
  
• not much phases him for gore. he was a biology major, he cut organisms open for a solid four years. he's got a strong stomach and will often make fun of others who don't...but really, he's a nice guy.
  
• he honestly doesn't like nicknames. he'd prefer it if you didn't call him joe, but there are always exceptions to the rule...like his parents or close friends or girlfriends or something. but even then he'd prefer to just be called 'josiah.'
