Salem is really just a victim of "bored suburbia teenager," if suburbia existed in Primula Town. He was born to a normal family of a magical father and a human mother, with his magical grandmother living with them as well. His home life wasn't anything special. His mom and dad were pleasant and loved him, and his grandmother was a typical sweet old lady who loved to spoil her only grandson.
However, like all kids, he went through a rebellious phase and just...never came out of it. When he was about thirteen he started to act out, falling into a more delinquent group of friends. Six years later and the only thing that has changed his Salem's appearance. His frosty blonde hair was colored electric blue and a deep navy that nearly appears black and several piercings adorn his face and ears (which have been gauged by this point.)
His parents are stumped as to why their once-sweet little son has turned into such a rude, law-breaking young man. Eventually they became fed up with him and when he graduated high school the three of them got into a big fight that ended up with Salem moving out and into his own little apartment near the business district (much to his grandmother's chagrin; despite the fight and her grandson's actions she still sees the good in him.) However, him not having a job got the better of him and soon he was kicked out of his apartment and now resides with his parents again.
These days he runs around town with his friends, causing petty trouble and being a general jerk just for the fun of it.
