Kendal runs and operates his family's ranch that he inherited when his father passed away (as his mother had no desire to run it herself any longer once Kendal was of age, even though she does live in-town and check in on him)--an nth-generations old property that specializes in raising ostriches. A few crops are grown on the side, but it is essentially what it is: an ostrich ranch.
Kendal has two younger siblings, and often takes on the 'fatherly'-role when around them (though this wasn't the case eleven years ago when their paternal figure was still around). When he was young, Kendal was mostly found among their ostriches, playing with and tending to them. He didn't socialize with kids his age that much, and was deemed 'weird' by them because of it. But it wasn't an issue to Kendal in the slightest.
Once reaching eighteen, his mother dumped the responsibility of running the family ranch unto him. It was a difficult adjustment at first, but Kendal soon eased into the role. He's been the head of the ranch for about nine years now, and effortlessly upholds the business' reputable name--despite his constant laziness.

- kendal has a strong sense of wanderlust, but a poor sense of direction and navigation. he can be found simply walking through the woods aimlessly but then suddenly get lost; at which point he just decides to keep on walking and see if he comes upon somewhere familiar.
- also, kendal often teaches those that are interested in ostriches how to ride them!
- with raising ostriches, art is a passion of kendal's. he often has a sketch book on him to draw in when inspiration hits and/or can be found painting nature landscapes and subjects. he is pretty damned good at it, should he say so himself.
