Roy was a baby left to an orphanages biding. Being a quite child he never was picked and always was taking care of himself and the younger children. Though, he didn't like that kind of life and always wished that he could be tougher to help protect his only sense of family. When he went into school, he met Salem in kindergarten and they became best friends, inseparable. So when Salem started falling into the wrong crowd of friends Roy followed right behind him, assuming this is how he could become tougher.
Eventually, Roy was old enough to take care of himself and got a job at sixteen and bought his own apartment, and got legal ownership of himself. Though, when his friends from the orphanage need a place to stay, and need to get away he always let's them crash. And, though Roy hangs out with a wrong crowd he tries to stay out of the trouble making as much as possible. Not to say he hasn't broken the law more then once, but he doesn't really like the feeling of breaking the law. But he keeps up his tough exterior for his friends.
