history
Home life wasn't that great, even from the beginning. Missie's parents were on rocky terms in their marriage--finding out the hard way that the particular civil union doesn't solve all relationship problems--and it was only worsened with a sudden pregnancy. By the time she was four, they'd divorced and moved on to different partners. Missie went with her mother, who truly cared for her daughter yet didn't spend much time raising her; this left Missie alone (as she had no siblings) and to ultimately raise herself. As there was nothing at home for her, it wasn't a place she liked to stay, nor intended to stay. For most of her youth, Missie spent time with friends or simply anyone about the town, as long as it wasn't home.
As for school, Missie excelled. She may not have been the top ranking student, but she definitely wasn't of average intelligence. Not to mention she was very sociable amidst her ranks of peers. In this time she also dabbled a little with dating, but never felt she liked--let alone loved--anyone past a normal crush or curiosity. Besides, the turmoil between her parents convinced her that commitments and marriage were nothing she wanted to associate with.
After graduating, Missie sought to become more independent and moved out of her mother's house to have her own apartment space in town. She manages with some savings she accumulated over her teenage years, as well as the wages she receives from her current job as a waitress at the Baccar Inn and Tavern. As for what she aspires to do with her life, she isn't quite sure yet and avidly seeks opportunities--as she is in no rush to settle down and become a maternal figure like other girls her age.
