history

Born to a small merfamily in the Aegean Sea, Nerine grew up in one of the larger underwater communities of the Mediterranean. Life was simple for them, generally peaceful and undisturbed, though on occasion the merpeople ran the risk of being discovered by humans. When their livelihood was threatened, Nerine and her family left the Aegean Sea, traveling a considerable distance before settling down in another community in the Atlantic. They lived there for the remainder of Nerine's adolescent years, moving only when other locations seemed brighter with opportunity, protection, and resources.

As she came of age, Nerine decided that it was time for her to leave the nest and live her own life. Drawn by the magical properties of Sepalum Peninsula, the mermaid found her own niche living among the clear waters of Orchis Ocean, scavenging for her favorite treasures: pearls. For the most part, she keeps to herself and remains wary of the surface dwellers - as she was taught - though her curiosity threatens to get the better of her.
