history
He was told he was the quiet one on august third, being born the latter of a pair of twins. And because of that he always felt like he was the worst one, the one who didn't deserve to be in the shining light like his brother was, but that sort of worked for him, despite everything.
They were born in Primula Town to a loving mother and a hard-working father, both magical beings, the latter whom was a biochemist and working on medicines and the likes, and after he was offered a larger and better equipped lab in the city their parents decided to leave the pretty little town after just two years of the twins experiencing life for the first time. It wasn't a big thing, seeing as they hadn't developed any specific feelings or memories about their hometown, but nihel definitely remembers it being terrifying, and quite difficult, dealing with the exhuberant personalities of his peers.
Life in the city was starting to entice nihel, however, by the time he turned twelve. The opportunities and possibilities, the dreams that could be made and realised. He finally saw the city for what it was, and not something he had to cope with. It quickly sent him into a spiralling course of straight A's at school and he studied day in and day out to maintain his scores.
Some people would've called it a waste because of how many other things he could've spent his time on and had fun, but he had fun on his own. He didn't make a lot of friends like his twin did, instead he made relationships with the characters in the books he read, and the equations he solved, and soon enough his mother started questioning if it was really healthy or not.
Nihel, however, watched his twin spiral the other way and felt worried he would drop out of school, so whenever their mother complained Nihel wasn't spending enough time outdoors he just pointed to Noël and went to study some more. It was all that he was good at after all. Not like his twin, who actually excelled in drawing as well as being skilled in the art of socialising. Nihel kept encouraging his brother, but after an unfortunate entry in a contest, he stopped.
Noël began partying and staying out late which made Nihel withdraw himself even more, realising his encouragements had no effect on his twin brother. So instead he focused on his studies. He even began branching out into mathematics, history and IT, learning how to code. It went as far as the police knocking on their door because he had hacked into the school system to try and change his brother's grades, which he succeeded at after a few tries.
Then, at the age of seventeen, the worst possible thing happened. The police came knocking for a completely different reason than before. It seemed there had been a mugging incident, where their father was involved. The robber had carried a gun, ending up shooting him when he refused to give up his money. The robber got away, however, and apparently forgot to take the money with him for some reason, which is what made Nihel think it wasn't just a robbery.
His calculating mind took over and made up this governmental scheme against their dad, who at the time was working for a company who was, on the surface, producing new medicines but really developing weapons to be used in biological warfare, such as toxins, viruses and bacteria.
Nihel, like the hacker he was, found out about the double life his father had been living, but since he loved his father and knew he had been killed because of what he did, he wanted to bring the culprits to justice. As much justice as could've been made when their dad made weapons of mass destructions. He never told the twins about what he was doing in the black of night, so he could just as easily have been preventing a bio war from happening as contributing to it.
That's what Nihel was determined to believe, anyway, so when their mother decided to move back to their birthplace, Nihel stole some of the equipment their father had been using and set up his own little lab in his bedroom in Primula. No one would suspect a nineteen year old Primula townie to continue on with his father's work, right? Nihel knew there had been a reason somewhere hidden in his work that got himself killed, and he wanted to find it. He was curious, and a little vindictive. On the surface, though, he just tells everyone that he wants to develop a cure for cancer or something like that. And it wouldn't surprise him if he stumbled upon it somehow.

- He is an author, goes by the pen name Francis Monroe, and sends his works to a publisher in the city. He started writing when he was fourteen, finding it a great outlet for his stress, and is still going at it strongly, sending in his works at every deadline he gets. He's secretive about it, however, for reasons unknown.
- He also writes for the town caller, but isn't too secretive about that particular employment.
- Has a twin brother named Noël, who is only a couple of minutes older than himself. They look completely the same, only Nihel has a slightly darker haircolour, and he parts his hair to right.
- Believes strongly that there's more to their father's death than just a common robbery. He's sure that there's something being covered up, and he intends on finding it out, even being stuck in Primula.
- Despite how he's very withdrawn and secluded, Nihel isn't completely incapable of compassion and finds socialising a great way to take his mind off of bio work whenever he needs it. And he needs it a lot, as he gets frustrated from overworking.
- Being a magical being certainly has its perks, but he hasn't really gotten an idea of what exactly he is capable of. Practicing magic is a hassle, after all, when he has so many other things to do.
- Even after everything the twins have been through, Nihel loves his brother immensely, and would do everything for him. Especially now that he knows their father might have been killed in cold blood.
