Sera squealed in delight when she finally opened the oven to smell the waft of freshly backed sugar cookies. She hadn’t tried them yet since they were still got, so she left it on a rack to cool. While she was dying to try it out, she wanted to have Freja try it first. They could share the cookies together while they had tea! Cookies with tea always sounded lovely to Seraphita. Freja lived in the Ranch District since she was well, a rancher. She had a few animals that Sera had seen. They were so adorable! Especially the cows. They were so gentle when Sera patted them on the head. Wrapping the cookies in a cute box as well as some peppermint tea bags, Sera walked to the district to find Freja’s house. Standing at the front of the door, she knocked on it. ”Hello Freja? I’ve come to visit you!” |

Every now and again she'd see a friend or acquaintance on the road when she was working in her fields or tending to her goats and wave, maybe stop for a quick chat but it was never really more than that. She led a busy life as did most of the other ranchers in the district, as there was always something to do.
So, it was entirely unexpected when she heard the knocking at her door and a voice calling out from the other side. The voice belonged to none other than her friend Sera. She hadn't seen her in a while so she happily opened the door with a smile, inviting the dark-haired woman in with her sweet smelling box.
"Did you bake cookies?" she asked, recognizing the warm, sugary vanilla scent that was wafting from the box. It truthfully smelled divine and she couldn't wait to eat them. Sera had come at a good time; it was just after lunch and she usually had a bit of down time while the goats grazed.
Going over to her small kitchen, she got out a few plates. The house was small and humble but it was the perfect size for Freja. She lived alone, after all, and even though she really did want to have a family some day, this house worked fine for the time being. Besides, a bigger house could always be bought, or she could always expand this one...but those were different thoughts.
Turning her attention back to Seraphita she motioned the girl over, the scent of the cookies making her instantly hungry. "I wasn't expecting any visitors today, but this is a very nice surprise," she mused, the smile still on her lips as she looked at her friend. | | tagged: seraphita words: 305 notes: <3 made by habbue |

I also bought some tea bags since cookies and tea always go together well!” She knew Freja was excited because when she smelled it, she knew the sugar cookies were going to taste very well. Freja was starting to prepare the meeting with plates while Sera made herself comfortable, sitting down on a nearby chair. ”I think you’ve been working too hard—so I decided to pay you a little visit!” Sera smiled and unwrapped the pink box, opening the top and gazing at the sparkling sugar cookies inside. Some of them had frosting since she wasn’t sure if Freja liked frosting on cookies or not. It was the thought that counted, didn’t it? The black-haired girl extended her arm towards the cookies in the box. ”Why don’t you go ahead and take a bite? I tried to make them chewy.” |

They could eat some cookies while the tea brewed and then, well...just eat some more cookies. They were definitely Freja's weakness.
After getting the tea on, she sat down as well and picked a cookie from the box, one with a nice, smooth layer of frosting on top before she took a bite, savoring the flavor. They were soft and chewy with just that hint of vanilla...perfection!
"These are delicious, Sera!" she exclaimed happily after she had finished her bite, quickly taking another one. The cookie was divine and the frosting was sweet but not cloyingly sweet - she could definitely eat more of these without feeling sick.
Setting her cookie down on the plate, she wiped a few stray crubs from her lip with a sheepish smile. "Sorry, I couldn't help myself," she said quietly. "Cookies are...well, they're my ultimate weakness. I could eat them for every meal," the blonde rancher giggled. | | tagged: sera words: wordcounts are silly notes: eep sorry im slow D: made by habbue |

She was a little worried when she sampled the cookies, thinking they were too sweet. Well, sugar cookies were meant to be sweet weren’t they? Freja set her cookie down on the plate, blushing and sort of embarrassed, leaving Sera to smile at her. "Cookies are...well, they're my ultimate weakness. I could eat them for every meal."”Just don’t eat them too much. I don’t want you to get cavities. I’d feel totally guilty if you did!” The black-haired girl laughed before sipping on some tea, which went well with the cookies. This was a perfect time to chat about random topics, and also Sera wanted to know how Freja was dealing with taking care of the ranch. ”Are the animals treating you good by the way?” |

She just giggled more when her friend expressed her worry about cavities. "Don't worry, I seem to have healthy teeth. I don't have to visit the doctor much for them, anyway..." It was strange, there were no dentists on the peninsula, but the doctor did a good enough job looking at them, anyway. If something was seriously wrong, she supposed people had to go to a bigger city on the mainland.
"Oh, yes, they're doing very well," she said, responding to Sera's question about her goats. "They seem to keep escaping though, one way or another."
Her goats had their own feisty personalities, so it seemed. The kids loved to jump and play and were very adventurous, which caused her a headache some times, but they were so adorable she couldn't stay angry.
"What about you? How have you been, Sera?" she asked, returning the question with a smile as she took a few more bites of her cookie and a sip of her tea.

Goats were sometimes hard to raise weren’t they? They wandered off someplace due to their curious nature and a baby goat could easily pass under a fence. She sort of felt bad for Freya but she seemed to be handling them pretty well. ”I’ve been doing well myself. I called a repairman to fix the church. It’s in pretty bad shape.” The doors creaked and the roof needed to be fixed after a storm made a hole on the roof. ”But the good news is that I’m trying to make chocolate cake. I’ve been failing a few times but I’m going to do my best no matter what!” |
