The crops were all taken care of and the ducks were fed. It was evening now and not a lot of people could be seen around the petite lake on the border of the forest, but that was how he liked it anyway so he had no reason to complain. He preferred to be alone most of the time, although he couldn't deny that he liked company from time to time. He was a solitary person, whether people liked it or not. Who he chose to share his time with was his own prerogative. Despite knowing he had left things feeling in control, he couldn't help but let his thoughts wander to his farm, and what needed to be done. He knew he had to fix the water tap in his garden, and there was a table without a leg which he felt pretty bad about leaving. It couldn't be helped, though, Leon needed time to himself, to only think about him and relax. He wasn't thinking about himself, however. He just couldn't. So perhaps the trip had been worthless, Leon thought while sighing. It was a wonder how far his mind wandered sometimes. He sat down next to the edge of the water, dipping his bare foot into it. It was still spring, but the weather and water was warm enough. Leaning back on his hands, he stared up at the sky and sighed again, trying to regain some of his focus on relaxing. If he didn't do it now he would never do it, and then he wouldn't do his work as well as he could have been. A few minutes went by as he started counting clouds, growing desperate. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a harmonica. He didn't often play other than when he wanted to calm the ducks, but perhaps it would work on him too? Maybe playing the harmonica would make him feel calm too. He needed it, so without further thought he pressed the cold brass to to his lips and breathed into it. The sound produced sent a chill into him, but he continued playing. Suddenly he heard someone behind him, which startled him given the fact that he knew there was no one around. He quickly turned around to face the new arrival, breaking the seal between harmonica and his lips. "Sorry, am I playing too loud?" He didn't think he was, especially since there were no people around earlier, but if they didn't like it he wouldn't pressure them into listening of course. That would just be rude. He kept a firm grip on the harmonica as he realised who had come in behind him, and smiled. "Hey." tagged: freja ♦ words: 466 ♦ notes: idk he's frustrated? made by habbue |

Sometimes Freja just needed a break from the world. Farm life was hectic; she knew that now after taking care of her goats and flowers for a while now. It caused a lot of stress and the best way to do that, in her opinion, was to get away and just take a walk.
Pulling on a light jacket, as the day was waning, she set off down the dusty gravel road in the district, walking anywhere. She wasn't exactly sure where she was going but a sign at the end of her very long road said that the path continued on to the forest.
She hadn't been to the forest in a while, and she loved walking among the trees and seeing the wildlife. Sometimes she even saw a deer and her fawn frolicking between the trees, heading back to their home. Mostly she saw squirrels and birds, but she loved them as well.
The blonde rancher soon became enveloped by the forest, swallowed by the sea of trees as she continued down the path, dappled by the orange sunlight filtering through the canopy overhead. It was getting a bit late but she wasn't going to be out long. Besides, the days were getting longer and longer as summer approached.
Soon the trees opened up and she found herself at the shore of the lake. There didn't seem to be anyone around until she heard the sound of a harmonica playing, spotting a lone figure sitting by the edge of the lake.
Quietly she approached, smiling when she noticed the purple hair. She only knew one purple haired man who played the harmonica, so her hunch was probably correct. When he turned around, hearing her footsteps, she smiled a bit more.
"Hello Leon," she said quietly, sitting down next to him. His feet were dipped into the lake water but she just sat with her legs crossed, the grass tickling her bare ankles. "What are you doing all the way out here, this late?" She supposed he could ask the same of her, but she was curious.

[atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign,top,true] leon madsen It was his neighbor Freja. The eighteen year old goat owner, with a tendency of flighty, escaping animals. One of them had even ended up on his own farm, although how he had no idea. He still wasn't sure if he had some kind of hole in his fences or if it was just the goat's ability to jump that had rendered it it's location. He still hadn't gotten around to going over to her farm to fix whatever hole she had in her fences, or maybe she didn't and it was just the goat's magical abilities. Either way, he felt a little bad for it. "I'm just taking a break," he said, smiling gently. "I finished all the chores for today -" he didn't mention that he still had things he needed to fix, like the broken chair and table in his yard, "so I figured I'd take a walk up here. It's a little chilly, though." The clouds had grown into this rather thick layer across the sky, blocking out most of the evening sun, and so it was colder than usual. He looked her over to see if she was trembling, or some kind of sign that she was cold. "What are you doing up here? More of your goats escaped?" He let out a light laugh, putting his harmonica on his lap. He wasn't sure if he would be able to play it anymore, as he didn't know if Freja liked the music his harmonica gave off. He wasn't too shy, though, so if she did he would play it for her. Leon had known Freja for a while, but sometimes he didn't know how to talk to her. She was much younger than him, but really cute, and he felt a little awkward being around her. He wasn't sure how to act or talk to her, despite them being good friends. "They're cute, though. You're doing a good job with them," he then said, trying to avoid commenting on her looks so instead commenting on her livelihood. tagged: freja ♦ notes: idk, he's contemplating life made by habbue |
