visiting valdis gartner Most days, Excisio kept himself hidden away. Despite his desire to take over the peninsula of Sepalum (and eventually more lands) the people didn't see him too kindly. Even though he could remain invisible, people could tell when he was around because of that creeping feeling they got in the pit of their stomach...as much as he delighted in frightening people, it made travelling difficult.
Usually he stayed away from the peninsula and let his human slaves and imps do his dirty work, but at times he had to visit the land and convince people to join his side...which was both enjoyable and a chore for him. He loved bending and persuading people but it wasn't easy, especially with those that were loyal to the goddess.
Feeling a need to go do some recruiting he ventured into the woods. There weren't many people around but if he did run in to someone, it would be easy to corner them and persuade them with force, if necessary. Killing people was messy and unnecessary but...sometimes it just slaked his thirst so well he couldn't help himself.
While walking through the forest he felt the presence of another. Keeping himself invisible he waited until he could see who ever it was...and soon, he came across a red headed girl near a field of flowers.
Disappearing from where he was he appeared in front of her, cloaked in his black clothing and shrouded with something that can only be described as despair, he knelt down in front of the girl.
"Hello," he said, his voice deep. "May I be of any assistance to you, my dear?"
Before she could run he reappeared behind her. "I wouldn't suggest running away because I most certainly can keep up."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,10,true] [atrb=style,width:320px,bTable] those who have seen your face draw back in fear Plenty inspired still from the recent flower festival, Valdis was ready to spend this sunny afternoon gathering pieces of nature and comparing color swatches to those of her surroundings. She packed a small wicker basket half full of her tools, including cookies and a sandwich purchased at the Baccar Inn along the way. A perfectly delightful day in every way. Even so when, as strolling through the dense wood towards her favourite flower field, a dark presence loomed behind Val's slight figure. Upon hearing the deep unfamiliar voice, the surprised young woman released a shrill scream and jumped back a good foot, only to have the same scare come again from behind and spook her right off her feet! Having half-expected it to be Aurelio prepared to spring a prank of her, she was quite surprised to see the foreboding figure that stood before her. As she struggled to catch her breath, Val took in the stranger with dilated eyes. She prided herself with knowing the local faces, being foreign as she was in this small village, but this person... Well, there was always time to make a new friend, right? He certainly didn't look like he could help her with colors, that's for sure. " I-I wasn't running!" The redhead protested indignantly, raising the volume of her high voice to emphasize her response. " You just appeared out of nowhere, like poof!" She made a simple 'poof' gesture with her fingers before reaching down to pick up her dropped basket, hurrying to right herself back to her feet. " You can't just poof on people, especially if you want to help them, silly! It's... like, unhelpful." With a half-winded giggle, she added, " But if you want to help, you totally can! I'm trying to make, y'know, pretty outfits, so I need pretty things for the pretty outfits." While good sense was absent from Val's mind, she couldn't shake the feeling that she should've worn a shawl for the chill that now crept along her spine... WORDS: 333 TAGS: excisio! |

visiting valdis gartner The girl's frightened expression brought him joy, but what else would one expect from a god who destroyed everything? However, all hopes of her joining his army of human slaves (as small as it was right now) were dashed when she started to speak.
Apparently this woman had no idea what was standing before her, all of the raw power that he contained but was holding back just because he didn't want to make a mess. No matter. The simple ones were usually easily persuaded.
Despite all of that, he let a slight smile grace his otherwise stony features. He wasn't a disgusting or disfigured god, for being a god of destruction. No, his visage was rather pleasant, if not handsome, but the cold aura that followed him and the dark expression that was usually on his face didn't make him an inviting person, and for good reason.
When she asked if he wanted to help, he knelt down and picked a single yellow flower from where it grew, holding the stem precariously between his thumb and first finger and watched as it slowly wilted and died.
"I don't think I would be much help to you, Valdis Gartner," he said in his smooth, deep voice. "But you can be of help to me."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,10,true] [atrb=style,width:320px,bTable] those who have seen your face draw back in fear Valdis watched with curiousity, rocking excitedly on the backs of her heels, as the dark stranger reached down to pick a flower. It was always much more fun when you picked flowers with someone! But, strangely, the vibrant yellow of the petals began to fade right before her bewildered eyes. She was well aware that plucked flowers died quickly if not given water soon after. To be dead so fast though? Confusion and disappointment drained the color from her face as swiftly as the flower had within the man's touch. Why his touch had incurred such a response was lost to her thoughts, far too consumed with sadness for the dead flower to notice such a detail. " Aw, poor flower..." The flamboyant redhead cooed mournfully, fiddling with the ribbon at her waist in her dismay. " It's okay if you can't help though. Totally okay!" Familiar light began to flood Val's bubbly features once more. It took something quite sinister to keep her enthusiasm at bay for very long. When the dark man suggested gaining her assistance, she responded with a giddy clap followed by an enthusiastic nod. " Well, sure I can help you! I'd love to! What is it that you need help with-" At first, Valdis paused to realize that introductions hadn't been made. Her mind followed the train of though, only to find... " Wait, how do you know my name already?" She asked curiously, no less cheerful. Her painted brows furrowed as she cocked her pretty head to the side. " I've never seen you before. Have I? I can't remember..." WORDS: 259 TAGS: excisio! |

visiting valdis gartner "I know everyone in the peninsula," he said with a smile, trying to be as genteel as he could. It was difficult for him to hold back at times, especially with someone so grating as Valdis. She was nice, but he didn't like nice. Nice was the goddess's domain and he wanted to destroy everything about her and all of those "nice" followers she had.
Valdis, despite being a kind young woman, seemed like she could be easily manipulated. Fed anything he could say and she would believe it. That put him in a power and advantageous position.
"I'm just a friend," he said, though he hated that word. "Nothing to fear. I'm here to ask for your help, and you seem rather willing to give it." Her naivety was almost humorous. The poor girl didn't know what she was getting herself in to.
He remained kneeling in front of her, as if to foster a sense of equality and comfort between them. If he were to tower over her, she could get frightened and run away like a small woodland creature or bird. She reminded him of a rabbit in ways, almost. Cheerful, enjoys flowers and going from here to there in a split second.
"If you'd like to help me, I'd love to take you with me to show you how," he kept talking with his smooth tone. "Won't you come with me?"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,10,true] [atrb=style,width:320px,bTable] those who have seen your face draw back in fear As quickly as her confusion had accumulated, Val's interest in the perplexing subject subsided. " Oh, okay!" She replied with a few nods and a slight shrug of shoulders. " I like a lot of people in the peninsula. Do you know Leon- Of course you do, you know everyone! Well, you know he's a real grump, right? Like, the grumpiest grump? Like, even grumpier than that other really grumpy old guy? The one with the grumpy wrinkles? Yeah, Leon's really grumpy." She would ramble like this as she reached down to pluck another wildflower from the grasses around her dainty feet, chittering on and on excitedly to her new friend. Completely oblivious as to who he was, let alone what he was. These things were trivial as far as Val was concerned. He was her friend, a new friend! Even though she knew very little about him, she wanted to learn so much more. That was why people made friends, right? Right! Totally right! And who better to make friends with than someone who could design him a brand new wardrobe. This dark get-up he was wearing was drying out his complexion completely. After picking the stray violet, Valdis extended the flower for her friend to see before putting it away with the rest of her collection. " You're so silly! Of course I'd love to help you!" She squealed with a giggle. " It'll be like an adventure! I love adventures! I'm gonna be the princess and you can be the knight! And we'll save the day and do awesome stuff! Let's go, let's go!" Valdis twittered in anxious delight and, with her free hand, extended a trusting palm for him to take hold of. WORDS: 283 TAGS: excisio! |
