[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,bTable][atrb=style, width:300px;]あなたと私の間に between you and i | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,bTable][atrb=style, width:300px;] He had never thought for a moment in his life that maybe, just maybe a girl would have actually taken him seriously and agreed to go on a date with him. Sure, Noël flirted here and there but that was only harmless flirting! He didn't actually mean it or anything. But wow, someone actually agreed! And a total babe too. Iphigenia. She had a weird name and she wasn't anyone totally outstanding, but she was definitely cute. As in absolutely cute and he would date her. Maybe she was just humoring him? Was she actually going to go on the date with him or was she just saying it to get him to shut up? Oh god, now he was nervous. Not that he wasn't before.
Noël paced back and forth in his room, mentally checking off things on his checklist. Jacket, mints, wallet, money in said wallet, cell phone ... was he missing anything? He lifted his hands to his hair, yanking on the silver strands almost entirely too distressed for his own good. What if she thought he smelled weird? Or that he looked gross? Did he dress down too much? Or was it too much? Goddess help him. It wasn't even like he should have been nervous. He had been on a date before! He had! Just ... it had been a while since he was out of the game and suddenly everything felt different. Very different. But in a good way. He heard his alarm go off, the man looking down at the time before realizing he was nearly late for the ferry.
He tore through the house, giving no inclinations of where he was going or where he had gone in his wake. He had picked up some flowers on the way, a small part of him praying that she wasn't allergic to roses by any means. How humiliating that would have been. Maybe he should have turned around and just walked back home. Yep. He'd just text Iphi and tell her that he was kidding because obviously she was kidding too right? There was no way a babe like her would want to go out with a complete loser like him. She'd probably want to go out with Nihel or something. But before he had known it, Noël was already on the ferry to the island.
No turning back now, he supposed. No turning back. He just had to embrace it. Just had to accept it. Aah, jeez. He really had been out of this for too long. He was starting to doubt himself. It would be a while longer before they arrived, Noël prompting the ferry driver to wait before he fled ashore and looked for the other's house. Calm. Cool. Collected. He just had to keep himself pulled together and everything would work itself out in the end. Everything would be fine. He just had to stay cool. He strode up, curling his fingers into a fist to knock on the door before hesitating. Uh. ... uh. Aw hell, he couldn't do this! He needed to go and stop himself while he was ahead. But instead, his hand moved. Knocking hard on the door, the sound startling the twenty year old and dropping the bouquet almost immediately.
"I didn't do it!" Didn't do what? Oh yeah. Cool. Calm. Collected. He totally had this. ... alright. Who was he kidding. He totally didn't have this. |

[atrb=valign,top][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=style,width:50px; border-right: 25px solid #FC0007;] | [atrb=style, background:#fafafa; width: 300px; padding: 20px;] It was safe to say that Iphi was freaking out. Normally if she had been asked out on a date, it would be a good freaking out. You know, jumping up and down and maybe a little squealing. Doesn't every girl do that from time to time? Besides, it wasn't like the girl got asked out on many dates.
But this...this wasn't the good freaking out. Ever since the brunette had gotten that text from Skye asking if Noel was just playing with her, she had let the thought fester in her brain and now she was afraid that yes, this was all just another joke to Noel. He liked to be lighthearted and joke around and he certainly flirted with a lot of girls meaninglessly, or so it seemed. What if this was meaningless to him? It definitely wasn't to her.
She had said she would go, though, so she couldn't just not go. Besides, it was fun to dress up. But how dressed up should she get? Noel hadn't said what they were doing so Iphi had no idea what to wear. What if she wore a dress and they did something active? She couldn't run around in a dress! But what if she wore something casual and they went to a restaurant? She wanted to look at least a little put together if they were going to a restaurant.
The girl spent entirely too much time perusing her clothes, though she didn't have a ton of outfits to choose from. Eventually she settled on something probably between casual and dressy, a nice, breezy blouse with a smart, modest and crisp pair of shorts. They weren't jean material, but rather a nicer material that was usually used for dress slacks. They were comfortable too, which was a plus.
She was in the bathroom, pulling curlers out of her hair and applying eyeshadow when she heard the knock at the door. A squeak escaped her lips and she hurried to finish, pulling the last few curlers out of her hair before separating and shaking the curls a bit to loosen them, grabbing her lip gloss as she slipped on a pair of nice yet casual flats. As she ran to the door she applied her gloss, shoving it in her pocket as she opened the door...
...to see Noel standing there, picking up a bouquet of roses he had dropped on the porch. Had he really sprung to get her roses? That was...well, very impressive. And it made her feel a little bit better. Still, she remembered what Skye said and was a little on guard.
"Um, hi Noel," she said shyly with a bit of a smile. She probably looked a lot different, as she was dressed a lot nicer than usual and her hair wasn't in their usual pigtails. "I'm ready to go if, um, you are." To illustrate her point she grabbed her clutch that was sitting on a small table next to the door, smiling a bit wider as she waited. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,bTable][atrb=style, width:300px;]あなたと私の間に between you and i | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,bTable][atrb=style, width:300px;] Was it hot out here or was it just him? It was probably hot. They were on a tropical island but still, it was possibly also because he was nervous and terrified out of his mind. He hadn't gone on a date in so long. He had made the reservations of course, but. But would that be enough of a date? Just having dinner seemed rather subpar so maybe they could go on a walk around the peninsula? By the beach? Why would she even want to go to the beach? She practically lived on it! Ugh. It was hard to try and think of a way for a date in Sepalum. It was such a small area and most people were busy so there wasn't much of an entertainment district for them to wander into. Or you know. Entertainment in general.
Noël shifted on his feet, looking over his attire once more once he had picked up the roses from the ground. He had tried to dress up fairly decently. At least as far as decent went for him. A white dress shirt half tucked into his faded gray jeans, sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Not too fancy but a step up from his usual attire he supposed. He adjusted his red tie slightly, coughing a bit nervously. It wasn't until he was prompted that he looked up, eyes widening slightly in surprise. He knew Iphi was pretty. But she was like. Really pretty today. Not that she wasn't all the time but still.
His mouth was open, the man startled from his thoughts once she spoke again. Shit, right. He was supposed to talk. Say something! Anything! He coughed again, trying to clear his throat before he offered the bouquet to her. Looking away a bit sheepishly as soft red flooded his cheeks. "H- Hey." His confidence faltered just this once, Noël lifting his hand to cover his mouth to keep from saying anything stupid. "Erm. These are for you." He glanced down at the ground, a bit fearful of how he was supposed to act. Iphigenia was the first girl that actually agreed to go on a date with him so if all went well, they'd go on a second. Third... ugh. He was so creepy. She probably wasn't even thinking that!
It was probably just a one time thing as far as she was concerned. "U- Uh ... we should hurry though so we can catch the ferry and go get dinner." Calm down. If this really was a date, then she was agreeing because she liked him. Right? ... right? Someone tell him he was right. He just had to keep it cool and not seem terrified even though he was. Girls smelled fear. "... you sure you wanna go with me? I mean I'm sure y' got other things to do and yer' probably just goin' out with me cause you feel bad or something ..." He thought. He wanted to say it. But he supposed that would have offended her or made her shut him down. |

They were beautiful and smelled wonderful and you couldn't even tell that they got dropped on the ground. The petals weren't bruised or anything. She took another sniff, closing her eyes and losing herself for just a second in the soft, subtle scent of rose. It really was a beautiful scent.
"Thank you so much," she said, eyes opening once more to look up at him, the smile spreading on her lips as the blush spread on her cheeks. He was very handsome, she couldn't deny that at all. Even though the girl was a little crazy about all attractive men that she met (mostly just thinking to herself about how cute and attractive and manly they were) Noel was different. She actually really liked him because she knew him on at least a little bit of a deeper level than most men she thought were cute.
"I'm going to go put these in some water," she said, turning to head to the kitchen. "I'll be right back!" Grabbing a vase from a cupboard she started to fill it with water as she removed the plastic from the outside of the bouquet. Once the vase was mostly full she slipped the roses into the water, letting them fan out naturally with the width of the neck of the vase. It was a lovely bouquet. Setting the vase on the kitchen table she went back to the door.
Picking up her clutch again she smiled. So they were going to dinner. That was good because she was starting to feel a little hungry. "Well we better go, then," she sad, stepping outside of the door and locking it with her key, which she slipped back into her clutch. Looking up at him in the fading sunlight she smiled again, a little nervous as she waited to follow him to the ferry. |
