It was early in the morning, well, early for Silver anyway, as she walked down the street to the business district. Silver was zipping up her hoodie to keep the warm of the morning summer air inside to keep herself warm, for when she arrived at Glacial Radiance it was going to be pretty cold, despite it being summer. Why would she work in a place like that, you ask? Well, she liked it there. It was rather interesting and something she could actually enjoy doing. Actually, she did enjoy it. She especially liked it when the days were slow because she could then catch up on her reading ... which was surprisingly a lot for someone like Silver. Her boss was all right too, she guessed. He was a bit weird though, she'd have to admit, what with the mask over his mouth and part of his nose. Eh, she didn't pay too much attention to it after the first week of working there anyway. You got used to it after a while.
As she arrived at the icy store, she looked through the window to see the usual ice sculptures on display. They sparkled under the early sun, and it made Silver smirk slightly at the sight. With a heavy and slightly tired sigh she fumbled through her pockets for the key Damian had given her to open the shop.
"Hmm ... I know I put them ... ahah!" She pulled out her set of keys and put the one to the store in the keyhole. With a twist, she opened the doors to be greeted by cold air and ... wait ... breakfast?
Silver walked in slightly to get another whiff of the lovely scent. "Smells like someone's cooking." she called out lightly as she set her bag at the register she worked at and her keys inside the bag.

Damian grumbled as he lifted himself off his bed. He groaned as he rubbed his eyes. Last night, he was drinking. He didn't know why, but he just felt the urge to do so. So drink he did. Now, he was putting up with a pretty bad hangover. When he tried standing up, his headache grew, keeping him from moving any further than an inch up before sitting back down. "My God... Haven't had this bad of a hangover since the party for me back home..."
After a few moments of trying to get up, he finally did it, only to stumble into a wall and lean against it, looking miserable. He didn't have his headband on, and his mask was around his neck instead of over his nose and mouth. He slowly made his way to the bathroom and sighed. He would make breakfast to stave off the hangover. Breakfast and a lot of water.
After washing up, he went back to his room and slapped on navy blue pants and a navy blue long-sleeve shirt. He left his jacket hanging on a hook near the entrance, seeing as how it's too cool to wear it otherwise. His headband is slanted over his eye and his face mask is on properly as he made his way downstairs to the shop and kitchen.
While most shops would be constructed so the first floor would be all shop and the second would be all for the owner or who ever would be living there, Damian's was different. His second floor was too small for more than a bathroom and a bedroom or two. So, he sacrificed some space for a kitchen on the first floor. Speaking of which, he made his way in and opened up his fridge. Thankfully, he was fully aware of the dreadful hangovers and prepared a meal or two beforehand.
So, he took out a plate full of food and began reheating it. He smelled the wonderful aroma, causing his stomach to rumble like thunder. Even with his face mask, he could still smell strong scents. He was tempted to just stuff his face right then and there, until he heard the door open. Since he heard the click of his lock and the manner of which the bell rang, he assumed it was Silver, his new clerk.
He turned around and peeked his head out the door between the shop and the kitchen to see Silver. He eye-smiled and spoke with a lazy, but happy tone. "Ah, Silver. Good to see you. Don't mind the smell, it's just me making breakfast. If you're hungry, I have another huge dish of food."

As Silver arranged her things for the day, she heard Damian call out back to her. She smiled lightly and continued to arrange her stuff before looking up. And there was her boss, cooking himself breakfast with his mask on. She was half tempted to ask him how he ate with that thing on, but decided against it last moment. Maybe later at lunch she'll ask ... and probably poke a bit of fun like she usually did.
Silver smirked back to him some and nodded a bit. "Well, I didn't eat this morning. What do you have?" she asked him softly as she looked at him. She never did ask about the bandana around his left eye, but assuming it was personal, she didn't bother asking. The store wasn't all opened yet, which was pretty good for her. Gave her time to at least eat something before the day actually began.
She walked near the opening to his kitchen and leaned on the wall slightly, her hair falling in her face a bit. She never did go in his kitchen, fot TECHNICALLY it was his home and Silver hated intruding without permission. Every day it was like that, but she was on;y being respective and not rude. Something she learned from her father.
"May I peek in?" she finally asked after looking around his kitchen with her eyes a bit. It was rather nice, for a kitchen that was in a store. What she couldn't get though was why the kitchen was almost in the store on the main level, and not on the second level. Eh, she didn't bother asking that either. Just went with the flow of things and didn't question on how a home was built.

A smile crept its way up to Damian's face. Not that it was visible, but he smiled anyway. Eating... Well, doing anything alone was kind of depressing. This would be a wonderful change he'd be willing to accept. Hmm... Should I cut her pay to keep up with grocery bills...? It's not like he can't handle paying for another person. So, he decided not to and answered Silver's question while he went through the thought. "Just something I cooked up last night. C'mon in, you're welcome in the kitchen anytime."
He motioned her in as he walked back to the fridge. After taking out the second dish, he stopped reheating the first, putting it on the table, and placed the second one in place of it. Damian motioned Silver to sit down on a chair facing the table he placed the first dish onto. The dish had a big portion of meats, with some pasta and potatoes on the side. He reached over to a container that held utensils, and took out a fork and knife.
Now, Silver was going to be in for a real treat. After Damian placed the fork and knife on the plate, he put his hands together and said a quick prayer. Then, he tugged at his mask and pulled it down, revealing the bottom half of his face. Most women would probably fawn over his looks if they saw him right now, as handsome would be inadequate to describe how he looks. If they saw him without the headband, a good chunk of them would probably faint or get nosebleeds.
He was about to dig in, until he remembered Silver's presence. He looked up at her and grinned a little with his eye-smile, scratching the back of his head. "Ahhh... You're the first one to see me without my mask in this town. Like what you see?" His voice was still just as lazy as it was before, but it had a hint of amusement. He wondered what his employee would do.

With the approval of her boss, she walked in and sat down in a chair across from another empty one. As she waited for her dish to head up, which smelled pretty darn good mind you, she heard a faint prayer coming from Damian and, without much of a notice, he tugged his mask down to reveal a rather dashingly handsome other half of his face. Silver's jaw almost dropped to the table, but she kept her mouth shut and simply smirked instead.
"Well, now I know you don't somehow eat with the mask on your face," she joked with a slight laugh, then rested her elbows on the table and looked at him again. "And yes, I do like what I see. Why wouldn't I?"
Silver loved to poke a bit of fun, especially to people she knew. Damian counted as such, and she couldn't help but tease him about his mask. He didn't seem to mind ... or at least she HOPED he didn't. If he didn't it would be nice if he said something to stop her. She would, believe it or not.
The beep went off on the microwave and Silver stood up to get the plate of food that smelled oh so fine. She took out her plate with one hand, and grabbed two utensils from the container with the other, keeping great balance as she walked back to the table and set both her plate and utensils on the table. She places them on either side of the plate, and put her hands together to say a light prayer before eating her food. It was something else her father had taught her, basically tattooing it in her head, before eating any food. It was now a sort of a habit and she rarely ever noticed she did it.

Though it doesn't seem like it, Damian doesn't mind the jokes people make about his mask and his whole usual get up. Honestly, he was actually expecting to get some ridicule or some kind of comment regarding them. So, Damian just chuckled and picked up his fork and knife. "Flirting with your boss? How bold." His voice would probably always have that lazy drawl in it, but, for once, it was dominated by a teasing tone.
He dug in and was immersed in the food. He could cook pretty damn well if he wanted to. And his buddies said cooking was useless. HA! He can enjoy great food when ever he wants! And it's fun too. A very common misconception. ...That, or he just enjoys cooking a lot.
Looking down at his plate, he realized something: he must've been really hungry. Half his plate was missing. And all under 10 minutes too! Seeing as how Silver didn't even start five minutes ago, he decided to make some small talk with his only employee. "Y'know, you brought up a good point. I should find a way to eat through his mask."

Silver couldn't help it though. She really couldn't. It was just part of her nature. Though of course she meant it as a joke, that was for certain. She watched as Damian literally dug into his food. A sheepish smirk fell across Silver's face as she picked up a noodle with her fork and slurped that in, Damian half way done his.
"Well, someone's hungry," Silver joked lightly with a slight laugh, "didn't you feed yourself yesterday?" It looked as though no one had, but maybe that was what he did in the morning? Just gobbled down his food like that? Eh, normally she wasn't there early enough to see him have breakfast, and usually she'd just made her own. But, considering yesterday was a bit of a stressful day for her, she didn't get to bed early enough and normally she would wake up BEFORE her alarm went off. So, today was a bit of an exception.
As she quietly ate the food before her, she heard Damian speak about the joke she made, and, of course, she laughed. "Unless you want food stains on that mask of yours, I don't think it'd be wise to try. Just warning you for future experiments." Silver thought about how that would turn out. Food all over his mask, or perhaps a hole where his mouth was to eat. All of that made Silver giggle slightly to herself. "Unless," she continued, "unless you put a hole where your mouth is." She tapped her bottom lip, trying to think of what else to say, but she couldn't. So instead she just shrugged. "Eh, that's all I've got for jokes right now."

Anyone who knew Damian would know that he is a very blunt man. He says what people ought to know, not what they want to hear. And, seeing as how he hired her after a good evaluation, he decided he could be at least somewhat blunt. "Oh, about that. I kinda got a bad hangover. Had a couple shots or drinks too many, I'm afraid. So yeah, I was pretty hungry." He looked up at her and smirked. "You probably didn't have that better of a day yesterday. You're normally here earlier."
He ate at a more leisurely pace to give Silver a chance to catch up. Though, not many girls can stuff their face like he can. So, he decided to speak a little more. "Hmm... Kinda disappointed. Is that all you can come up with?" He got up and got two glasses from the cupboard, filling both up with water. "I could have a zipper. Or maybe use some of my magic. Though I'd rather not have frostbite on my lips..."
He scooped up a few ice cubes from a bucket near the sink and placed them in the glasses, before coming back down and placing one in front of her. "Don't try to eat the ice. Or throw it away. It's got my magic imbued in it, so it's pretty much like my figurines." He swirled his glass around before taking a sip. While doing so, he looked up at a clock above the archway connecting the kitchen and the shop. "Finish up in 10 minutes. If anyone comes during that time, I'll take care of it."

Silver liked how blunt he was with her, made room for more extra jokes and puns along the way. But sadly, this morning she got nothing. Being tired would do that to a girl who didn't get enough sleep beforehand. Though she laughed and smirked along with him and said,
"Eh, can't help it if you just feel like drinking." She gave him a soft shrug and finished her plate and sipped on the water he handed to her. "I've had better, to be honest." Another shrug was given to him by the young redhead as she finished the water, leaving the ice in the glass as he instructed. Silver stood and put her plate and utensils in the sink, being polite as to not leave a mess for him to clean up afterwards, and quickly zipped up her hoodie and headed for her register. A simple code was enter with speed, opening up the computer so she could check out the items faster and read more. Something she loved about this job very much.
Silver bent down from behind her counter and unlocked a long cabinet, containing a bat that she kept with her in case of a break-in. It hadn't happened yet, but one day it would and this chick was ready for anything the poor suckers of robbers threw her way. She worked her, and she definitely was not going to see anything stolen from the place. Though, the only reason they'd be here was for the money, and sadly for them that money was guarded by a bat-wielding redhead who didn't take 'no' for an answer most times.

As much as he tried to slow down, he ended up finishing long before Silver did. He got up when Silver got up and went to the counter, and brought all his dishes to the sink. The dishes were washed at a leisurely pace, and the magic ice cubes were washed and dumped back in the bucket full of them. By the time he finished, he wiped his mouth and brought up his mask again.
Damian made his way over to the counter himself, hearing the click of a cabinet being unlocked and seeing Silver reading a book he already read. Of course, he did all this stealthily as he made his way behind Silver. Old habits die hard. "Main character kills himself, but gets revived." They die really hard.
Now, he wouldn't aggravate anyone he knows would give him a hard time. Sure his employee had a bat at hand, but he has more than enough experience. That, and he had an ace in the hole, in case something goes horribly awry.

After she got her things ready to go, Silver took out her hard covered book that she was currently reading. It was very intense and she was loving it, and sometimes her mind went somewhere else while reading. Mostly, it was not hearing what Damian said beforehand or maybe a customer walking through the store. And sometimes, it also left openings to sneak attacks out in the park or maybe in the store if she wasn't careful. But the one thing that would get her attention besides maybe the smell of food, was a spoiler. Man did she ever hate spoilers. It was worse than the jocks around Peninsula. Damian, knowing this hatred, gave away spoilers that she had yet to read.
"Again!?" Silver hissed angrily at Damian, looking behind her and giving him a glare colder than the ice inside the store. She had lost count of how many times he gave away a part in a book she was reading. The end of the book give-away didn't bother her so much, but when he gave away a part that she hadn't read yet, that was when she got mad. It just infuriated her so so much. The kind of anger that made someone want to just hit the other person, and that was what she did.
As quick as she possibly could, she threw her arm back that held the hard covered back towards his face. She knew she wouldn't hit him, but she just felt like at least trying. It never hurt to at least attempt it. Who knows? Maybe someday she may actually hit him. Though she would have to catch him by surprise ...

Having employees was really fun. Especially since you can pick on them to relieve some stress. ...Or have some wanton fun. Normally, a sane employer would avoid annoying someone like Silver the way Damian did, lest they get a black eye or worse. But this was Damian.
He caught the book, which pretty much stopped Silver's arm and the potentially painful experience. His eye fell upon the cover and took a good look at the title. It blinked a few times. Damian let out a chuckle as he let go of her book. "Ah, wrong book. I think that's enough teasing for one day though."
Anyway, there was one thing he wanted to bring up with her. He walked over to where the baseball was hidden and bent down, opening the cabinet and taking it out. "I think it's time we upgraded security." After hefting the bat a few times, he placed it back inside the cabinet. The cyclops stood up and eyed Silver a bit, before speaking. "It's time I taught you some proper techniques. Specifically, throwing and stealth."

Silver sighed in relief when he told her it was in the wrong book. With another quick glare his way she marked her place and put the book back in her back. She watched as he took her bat out and hefted it around a bit, before putting it back and mentioning about upping security and training her in throwing and stealth. It wasn't totally a bad thing, and Silver seemed to smirk a bit at it.
"So the Master at martial arts wants to train a street fighter to sneak and throw things? Hmm, could be fun."
She gave him a little shrug and closed the cabinet with her foot, leaning against the counter and looked up at him with her blue orbs. It didn't bother her that he wanted to train her in stealth and throwing, and maybe some other stuff along the way, but Silver didn't even think it was worth it. The bat, and her skill in fighting proved enough challenge for any unlucky sucker who tried to rob the store. That was her opinion though, and she kept her personal opinions to herself at all times, unless the person deserved to hear them.
As she played with the strings on her hoodie, she looked outside. It was starting to get brighter as the minutes went by. No one had came inside the shop yet, so it was rather quiet besides the two of them making conversation about security. Silver looked back to him and gave him a smile.
"If I have to be trained by you, I will, but I hope it isn't gonna start now. We'd look rather funny to customers, not to mention we'd break something in here." That was meant to be a joke, and she snickered at it a bit, imagining if they did[/d] train inside the shop. Ohhh man so many ice figurines would break and they'd be slipping around everywhere.

[atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 310px; background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/7jUnJeF.jpg); background-repeat: repeat] ...Now that Damian put some more thought after hearing Silver's words, he was doubting himself. Not that he couldn't teach her, no. But would it be smart to teach her? She seems like the vengeful type, so maybe he wouldn't teach her anything. ...Or at least throwing stuff. Light things like his ice needles and whatnot. It would not be fun dancing around flying knives and other heavier objects.
Damian took Silver's later words with a grain of salt and nodded a little. "On second thought, I won't teach you stealth. I will teach you how to throw something light. For example..." He walked over to a small bowl that was filled with water and placed a hand over it. His hands glowed white with a light, blue tint around it and a bit of water floated and elongated into a needle. When he pinched the water needle, it instantly solidified and took on a glow before turning into the ice used on the sculptures and trinkets.
He turned to Silver and looked around for a suitable target. His eye laid upon a trinket with a ring/loop with a diameter of that of a pencil, that had some frost covering the hole. It was on the opposite end of the shop.
"Ah, perfect. Take a look at trinket over there." Once Silver saw his target, he moved his arm a little and flicked his wrist, making the needle fly straight through the hole, and embedding itself in the wall behind it. "That's a decent challenge for me. If it were any farther, I'd have some trouble. So, you interested?"

The redhead looked at him softly when he changed his mind about teaching her stealth. It didn't really bug her any that he did, but it would have been fun, for her at least. Though she figured it was for the best. Silver wasn't exactly the most responsible person in the world, she she would probably take her learnings in the art of sneak for pranks and such.
Silver watched as the water he held his hand over formed and shaped into a sharp piece of ice. Man, that never failed to amaze her with what he could do with a little bit of water. A smirk curled up in her face as she watched him throw the sparkling ice shard through a hoop-like figure. She pondered what he asked for a bit. It would definitely be useful if she was in danger, and it would help for every day things too, like pitching or throwing something to a friend, or maybe hitting one of her ex boyfriends between the eyes with a rock. Definitely useful, and Silver didn't mind learning a few things.
With a shrug she replied to him, "Yeah sure, I wouldn't mind learning a thing or two about throwing like that." She gave him a smirk and sat on the counter, crossing a leg over the other and looking to him.
What she understood about Damian, was that he was trained in martial arts and knew a lot about ... well what basically ninjas knew. She kept it in her mind that if she happened to go something utterly wrong and knock all the ice figurines over, he would high kick her out the door and that would have been the end of her career as the Glacial Radiance clerk. But, she knew it would never happen because she was pretty balanced for a girl like her.
