[atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true] [atrb=style, width:100px; background-color:#efefef; padding:7px; padding-right:12px]☁ that's what the water gave me and time goes quicker between the two of us | [atrb=style, border-left:1px solid #dddddd; background-color:#efefef; padding:5px]He didn't often agree to fishing with others, or just be around someone when he was fishing, because it threw him off his game, so to say. And the more people he had around him when he fished, the less fish he was going to catch due to the intensified sound levels that scared away the fish. Other than that Aurelio had no problem being around people, in fact he loved people and wanted them around at all times. Just not when he was fishing.
Today he had promised to teach a girl he knew how to, however, so he had allowed it. You couldn't really teach someone if you weren't together, right? And for some reason he really liked being around this girl. She came off as shy and reserved, but it never posed a problem for him as he would just do the talking if she didn't. She was a nun and worked in the church, which was something Aurelio didn't quite understand or know much about. He wasn't the very religious person, although he had caught himself praying that the fish would bite, but that wasn't to say he did it all the time. Not like she did.
He had another job, a job that required him to know a little about what he loved the most; fishing. As he was one of the clerks at the fish shop, he sold fish and stuff to people. He had dreamed of some day owning the store, or at least something of his own, so that he wouldn't have to come in so often and do work. If he owned a place of his own he could just come in every now and then - kind of like he did now - and check that everything was alright. He would have to hire people who knew what they were doing, of course, preferably as much as he did, but he couldn't be too demanding as there weren't a lot of fishermen in this town. Sometimes he even wondered if he should have bought a farm instead when he moved to Primula, instead of the house he had.
He had decided that the best spot for teaching fishing to someone was at the beach, which was where he was now, because there was so much more diversity in the ocean than in the lake or rivers. He preferred fishing in rivers, however, because they felt more relaxing. Not to say he didn't enjoy the beach and the ocean, but it was more wild and open, and he didn't like how memories of his parents showed up whenever he was down here. Hopefully it wouldn't pose a problem today, becuase today he was too enthusiastic about teaching Seraphita how to fish.

[atrb=align,right][atrb=style,width:320,btable][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,border-bottom: 1px solid #707070;] the petals of our tears go pitter-patter | Today was the day that Aurelio promised Seraphita she was going to fish. She was really excited about it, and she knew that he was excited as well. She didn’t know what to wear for the event, but in the end, she decided to wear a white spring dress that she had been eager to try out. As soon as she was done getting ready, she headed out of her home. She wondered why Aurelio asked her to head to the beach instead of the river. Isn’t the river the best place to fish? Oh well, as long as there was a body of water with plenty of fish swimming about, Seraphita didn’t seem to mind. Spotting Aurelio, she waved and ran up to him. ”I’m here Aurelio, ready for my first fishing lesson! So, where are we going to fish?” |

"Hi, Sera!" he said. It caught him as a slight shock when he realised he had remembered her name with ease, but his facial expression soon turned into one giant grin because of it.
"We're gonna fish right here, on the pier -" his eyes followed his finger, which pointed to where they were both standing, then looked up at her, "is that okay?"
He wasn't sure if Sera wanted to fish somewhere else, or maybe she didn't like the ocean just like him, but it really was the best place. And he hadn't spent time down here in ages, so he really thought he should. Then after they were done fishing he could cook the fish they caught on an open fire, which was the best way to cook fish, he thought.
"Here, I brought a fishing pole for you," he bent down and picked up the simpler version he had carried with him from the fish shop - 'cause why would he have two fishing poles - and handed it to her.

The pier looked better to fish, since she could always sit down while casting her line. She wondered what they were going to do when they caught some fish. Maybe they were going to eat it? Sera didn’t know. She smiled when he gave her an extra fishing rod. Seraphita looked a little bit nervous, but she was eager to catch her first fish! ”Thank you Aurelio! Let’s start right now!” The black-haired girl sat down on the edge of the pier, holding her fishing rod. Now it was up to him to teach her how to cast the line or something along those lines. ”So how do you start fishing?” |

"You've really never fished before? Really?" He just couldn't understand how someone could have gone without it for so long - although he didn't know how old she was, he knew and could see she wasn't a baby and that meant she had lived for a while - living in Primula, where fishing was a big export.
He was about to show her how to hold the fishing pole when he saw that she had sat down already. "No- you can't sit down yet," he said, touching her shoulder. "You have to learn how to properly hold the pole first, okay?"
He gestured for her to stand up, smiling. Once she did, he reached around her kind of like a hug, but put both of his hands on the pole. "Hold your hands here," he tapped the place, then put his own hands over hers when she did so. "You have to keep a hard grip, okay? Like this."

She got up and stared at the clear blue waters… this scenery looked so beautiful like if she was in a photo. Seraphita was quite surprised that he hugged her from behind almost. She hadn’t touched a boy before, so she was blushing all the way. Holding her hands to where he gestured her to grab onto, Sera felt kind of awkward because of this close contact between the two. ”O-okay I got it now… And I throw the line next right?” Oh goodness why was Seraphita stammering? She had to maintain her composure if she wanted to fish! |

"Sorry, should I stop?"
He loosened the grip on her hands, but from what she was saying - though for some reason she was stuttering, which Aurelio wondered why - it didn't seem like she wanted him to stop. Okay.
"Yeah, you just pull the pole back, so the line'll fall behind you, then throw it as hard as you can out toward the sea -" he moved the pole with both their hands so the line fell behind them, "but you have to release the line as you throw it, okay?"

Aurelio noticed that Sera felt a little uncomfortable. ”N-no! I’m just not used to close contact…” Wow, why did she have to go and say that? Aurelio probably thought she was a complete weirdo. Well, he didn’t let go and continued giving her instructions, such as to release the line when she threw the line back. They motioned so she could throw the line back and as soon as they did, Sera released the line as he had told her to. The bait plopped into the water and smiled with delight. ”Ah, I-I did it! Now we just have to wait right?” Sera turned her head towards Aurelio; her cheeks were still red. |

"Are you sure you don't want me to-" But before he could say or do anything else, Sera had already made the move to throw the line into the water, and had released it just as he had told her to. She was an excellent student of fishing, she was.
He grinned. "Yeah, now it's time for the waiting game. And we can't be too loud, okay? 'Cause the fish don't like noise, or they won't bite." He put a finger to his lips. "We'll have to whisper."
Then he released his hold on her, and moved to her side, picking up his own fishing pole. Doing the exact same as they had done together, he had the lure in the water in no time. "Let me know if you feel it nipping; I'll help you reel it in." And so he sat down on the edge of the pier, smiling contently. The weather was perfect for a day out as well, so nothing could have made him happier.

The waiting game… Seraphita didn’t like waiting sometimes, but patience was a virtue, like her mother had said. ”Okay, I’ll wait…” She replied, whispering. Fish were such delicate creatures and they were always able to get themselves out of trouble. Aurelio waited for his fishing line to start showing signs that a fish got hooked. A few mintues have passed and Seraphita felt her line tugging. Oh gosh, a fish caught her hook! ”Aurelio! Come and help me!” She held onto the rod as hard as she could. |

Aurelio relished in these times, as he loved the calm that came with the atmosphere, but he didn't know if Sera liked it. Maybe she still felt uncomfortable, hated waiting, or just wanted to talk.
The moment he was about to start a random conversation, in case Sera didn't like the solace they suddenly shared, the girl shrieked out for him to come help her. Aurelio stuck his fishing pole in between a hole in the pier, then jumped up to help his friend.
"Here, let me!" This time around he didn't hold around her to help her. Instead he just squatted down next to her and took the pole in his own hands, beginning to reel the sucker in.
It felt like a big one, too, which was super lucky on Sera's part! "Woow, this one's a tough one! Ahh!" He didn't even care about the noise level, as they had already caught a fish.
"Ne, Sera, could you get that bucket over there?" he nodded his head over to the side, in the direction of the bucket in question, then focused on reeling the fish in.
It turned out to be a 20 cm carp. He knew they could become super big and heavy, but it was a good catch for Sera's very first! He wasn't even sure if she was going to catch any, but here it was! When the bucket was in place, Aurelio unhooked the slimy thing and plopped it into the waterless bucket.
"Now we just need some water."

She wasn’t a fan of fish but they were certainly delicious in dishes, whether they were cooked or raw. Aurelio fought to get the fish out of the surface while Sera got the bucket and placed it right next to him. Wow, Sera caught her very first fish, and a huge one at that! Aurelio unhooked it and plopped it into the bucket where Sera could hear it still flopping for water. ”Yay, I caught my fish! I’m so proud of myself!” Sera clasped her hands in delight, giggling. ”I want to catch some more! Are you up for that Aurelio?” Maybe they could have some sort of fishing contest to see who would catch the most fish. |

"Let me just get this one some water."
The twenty-two year old grinned at his friend, still amazed at her very first catch. This girl did seem like something else, something different, but it seemed a little too good to be true. She made amazing pies and she could fish like any other fishermen. She might not have been as good as him, but she was pretty great. Aurelio thought about it for a second, but then realised he was silly for thinking like that.
He took the bucket in his hands and stared at it for a moment, before he looked up at the girl. "Unless you want to try and gut it?" They had to do it later anyway, so why not right away? He could teach her how and then maybe she could try it for herself later. Then again, did girls dislike this kind of thing? Gutting a fish would be bloody and messy, maybe Sera didn't like that.

He was so friendly and carefree and he was always wanting one of her pies or other delicious delicacy she made. When he touched her from behind, she felt warm and at the same time, embarrassed that a boy was touching her skin. She decided to let her thoughts disappear for a while, because now Sera wanted to have fun with him. She was quite nervous when he asked her if she would like to gut the fish out. She had never gutted a fish before and she knew it would be a mess when doing so. She didn’t want to be a little girl—scared of cleaning out a fish, so she was going to do it! ”I-I’ll do it! She looked like she was afraid for her clothes getting dirty or dirt under her nails, but here she was, saying she wanted to gut a fish. Wow. Aurelio had to take a moment to grin, but then forgot why he was grinning in the first place. Instead he continued grinning because he was so happy.
"Yeah, I thought I'd make a bonfire down there," he pointed towards the sandy area, "and then we can roast it on the fire!"
The boyish man rummaged around in his tool box he had brought along with the other things - they didn't need water if they were gonna gut the fish right away - and produced a small knife in his hand.
He also pulled out a miniature cutting board and placed it next to him on the pier, close to the edge so that all the messy insides could just be pushed over and into the water.
Before showing Sera what he was doing, he quickly took the fish in his hand and the knife in the other and removed the head, killing it.
Then, signaling for Sera to sit down with him, he cut a line down the belly of the fish, placing the knife down on the pier and then used his free hand to reach inside and pull out all the entrails, which he just threw out into the water. With everything gone, he lay down on the wooden surface and firmly held the fish while he dipped it in the water, rinsing it.
After he saw back up, his eyes lit up as he looked at Sera. "Did you see how I did it? Sorry, I'm not good at explaining stuff I'm doing, but if you saw good enough, maybe you can do the next one yourself?" With a lot of supervising, of course. He didn't want her to slice her fingers.
