[atrb=style, margin-bottom: -10px;] PERSONALITY + industrious + kindhearted + protective + passionate + selfless + outspoken + awkward + easily flustered + irritable + reckless | |
HISTORY dallas grew up in a quaint household on sepalum in the company of a loving family consisting of his parents, three elder sisters, and one precious younger sister. his father was a cheery man with a playful personality and an eccentric mindset; dramatic, kindhearted, and overflowing with childishness unspent in his youth. friends of the caxton family often treat him like one of his own children. comparatively, dallas' mother was much more elegant; she was the one who kept the balance: kindhearted, tolerant of her husband's childish antics, and motherly, she was the most popular person in the household with her delicious apple pies. sometimes, her husband would fight their five children for her attention. nevertheless, they were genuinely loving parents who cared deeply and fairly for all their children, constantly supportive and encouraging when the need arose. the caxton family's closeness left a warm, comfortable feeling in the household. a fisherman who really wanted to be a blacksmith, dallas' father was making enough off of his fishing to provide his family with their basic needs. he would often regale dallas in his tales of early blacksmithing, like how he purportedly shaped a perfect nail with one strike of a smith's hammer. he would encourage dallas to be 'the man of the house' and 'a real hero', giving him the responsibility of protecting his mother and sisters when he grew too old to lift a fishing rod. dallas listened intently to everything his father told him and, much to his parents' amusement, took the duties as seriously as though his father could grow old any second. "i'm going to grow big and strong, because i can protect everyone. then, no one has to cry anymore." that was what dallas used to say as a child. he was a pipsqueak before his adolescence, a little boy compared to his taller elder sisters. they liked to playfully tease him about his abilities, to test dallas' resolve with little pranks like retrieving a card from their breast pocket without going red-faced. the only one dallas could really look out for was his youngest sister. he would cook for her, care for her, and fend off the bullies for her. in turn, her soft, gentle personality calmed his initial recklessness, and taught him to be less brusque, less obsessed with heroism. being the only male sibling, dallas matured quickly. following the path that his father never got to take to make the latter proud, dallas took up an apprenticeship at the local blacksmith. of course, he's still that loyal, protective boy at heart, and his occasional bouts of clumsiness, recklessness, and on-and-off hot temper makes it difficult for him to be anything but an apprentice. SKILLS + mining: level one + fishing: level one ETCETERA + he's been working as an apprentice blacksmith since his teenage years. it irritates dallas when people younger than him get to be full-on blacksmiths when he's still stuck as an errand boy. + dallas is pretty clumsy sometimes, especially in the presence of females who aren't part of his family. he is easily flustered, and can rank right up there with the stuttering tsunderes when they get too close. + if there's anything he's actually good at through and through, it's cooking and baking. he makes some good, family dishes, like omelet rice and simple cakes. there's always a taste of familial love in his dishes when he makes them. + he can be pretty reckless and brash, temperamental and irritable, but dallas really just worries too much for a person to leave them alone. his 'help' is forceful and his ability to deny his kindness and true intentions is so bad it's good. case in point: don't mind him when he lashes out at you and calls you 'stupid' or 'idiot', he means well - but he just doesn't know how to phrase it properly. + dallas is romantically inexperienced and very awkward around females despite living in a household full of them. it's different, okay? dallas hates that clenchy feeling in his heart when it happens.
