-- Dakota-- Dakota closed the door of the house behind her and headed for the stables. She had to ride one of the horses. Normally her first choice would be Comet but, a customer was coming to look for a show jumper so she had to exercise her. Even though he wasn't coming any time soon.. Comet was a jumper but, for sure not for sale. So she found her way to a black and white painted mare nicknamed, Chitra. She tacked up Chitra and mounted walking the mare to the pen in which she ahd jumps set up. Chitra was in a good mood dancing sideways when Dakota gave ehr rein. Dakota shorted her reins and with a subtle touch of her heels Chitra was trotting. Daktoa warmed her up walking around the ring. Once Chitra had warmed up she gave another subtle tap which made Chitra canter smoothly. Dakota turned Chitra to the first jump and Chitra cleared it with ease. They kept going over the course and then slowed to a trot around the ring to cool her off a bit. Then back to cantering and leaping over the jumps. One or two flaws were made with her hoof barely tapping the pole on one or two of the jumps. They began to walk slowly around the ring and Dakota patted her neck. She felt the reins shift ever so slightly confirming that Chitra was listening to the bit. Dakota took in a deep breath and continued to walk around giving rein to Chitra. Her ears were now perked rotating to pick up any faint sound. Then Dakota saw the figure moving toward the ring. Was this the customer? He was early by two weeks! Who was that was he even the customer. 294 Words

Faris' stomach grumbled a complaint it wasn't happy with him since he hadn't eaten since early that morning. Faris made a promise that one more place and he would take a break from job hunting until he found something to eat. He stopped in front of the next ranch he came across. He looked at the expanse of land and noted that all the animals in view were horses. He found himself walking up the drive and a figure astride one of the horses came into view. She was obviously warming up the horse.
Faris wondered if this was where the horses were raised and sold. He walked towards another area where horses were freely grazing. He clicked his tongue and the nearest horse ears perked and it raised it's head. It was a pretty chestnut stallion. It regarded him with intelligent eyes for a moment before he trotted over to him. Faris held out his hand and the horse casually sniffed at his hand before he huffed and and pushed at Faris' shoulder with his head.
Faris chuckled knowing what the stallion wanted. He patted the horses head before pulling away from the horse, who huffed before returning to grazing. He went back towards the ring where the girl was warming up the black and white horse. He admired how the horse moved and even more how well the girl handled the steed.
She seemed to pick up on his approach and he offered a wave, a smile on his face. He wondered what this encounter would end with.

-- Dakota-- Chitra's head turned toward the man but none the less kept moving until Dakota gave a light tug to Chitra's reins and dismounted and quickly removed the saddle and bridle from her. Off Chitra went to greet the man. Chitra bobbed her head up and down happily. Dakota set the saddle up on the fence post along with the bridle and walked over to where Chitra was happily bobbing her head. She ran her hands over Chitra's neck and looked to the man. "Hello are you by and chance Samuel Renworth?" If he was Dakota was mad. Samuel wasn't supposed to be coming to look at Chitra for another two weeks. Chitra huffed and gently nudged her muzzle to the top of Dakota's head. Dakota smiled before rubbing Chitra's black and white head with one hand. Dakota then thought of something if this wasn't Samuel then maybe he was here to buy a horse. Even if he was just a horse lover. Not too many of them down here. 169 Words

Faris watched from a distance as the female dismounted and removed the saddle and reins from the black and white mare. The horse, being free, came immediately in his direction. He smiled gently as the horse came up to him, bobbing her head up and down in excitement. He clicked his tongue before he rested his hand on the mare's nose before scratching under the small amount of hair that rested between her ears. He was so caught up in the mare's attention that he didn't notice that the female rider had approached him as well.
He drew his hand back from the mare so he could get a look at the female rider. She was pretty but he wasn't here to flirt. He gave her a welcoming and friendly smile before casually waving. He tilted his head with a regrettable smile. "Sadly, I don't know that name. I'm Faris. Faris Karim."
He would have offered his hand in greeting but the mare seemed to have turned her attention to the female rider. "She's a great jumper. Strong legs, and she seems to be very good-natured. A beautiful mare, and I've seen my share."
He thought back to his own horses from way back and found himself missing the companionship of a horse. They had a certain intelligence that you couldn't find the rival of. It was nice to have horses around here. And he found himself wanting his own again.
If she was looking on selling, she may just have a buyer, if he can find a job soon. | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=style, width:100px; background-color:#f1f1f1, bTable] | made by rustyfox ★ of btn |
