It was his day off and here he was being dragged through town running errands with his mother. Jake was handed a list of items and told to be back home around noon. The two split up, so that they could cover more ground. Although the sixteen year old saw it as a chance to escape. A day off usually meant sleeping half the day away and spend the rest of the day messing around. Not going out shopping. “This is unfair. Why couldn’t she bring Jenny instead?” He grumbled, looking down at the list given to him. Milk, eggs, cheese, beef, rice, corn, apples, onions, potatoes, and a watermelon were on the list. Why couldn’t he have done this later? It was still too early in the morning for him to even be wake. The sixteen year old stretched and yawned, trying to find a good place to sneak in a nap before finishing up his morning chores. A bench was too out in the open, so that was off the list of places to sleep. He did not want to get caught. If he did, he would never hear the end of it from his parents.
Jake spent at least a good five minutes looking for somewhere to sleep. A tree? No that would not be a good idea. He would most likely just fall out of it and hurt himself. He let out a sigh. Maybe he just get all the shopping done, so he could go back to bed. Now the only problem was what stores sold what. For him living most of his life on the Sepalum Peninsula, he did not pay much attention to anything. He guessed that the general store should have everything. Or at least he hoped so. “Why am I even doing this?!” He yelled out. It was his day off, so why was he here in the first place. He should be in bed sleeping. He earned the day off.
He sat down on a nearby bench, trying to clam himself. There is no way he would ever yell at his parents much less his mother. They would kill him if he did. Why did such things have to keep happening to him? Jake had three other siblings, so why did she have to pick him to go shopping with? That was the one question that kept on eating away at him. He only has been sitting for at least a minute or two before the kid was fast asleep. He needed that sleep more than anything. |

❝ merii goo rando noritai no! tabun sonna ja dame desho! ❞ Zalea's throat was very dry. She couldn't believe she was doing this. She was out in town! She felt nervous and was a bit scared. What if she accidentally looked at some and they turned to stone? She would never forgive herself and she was sure the townspeople would be scared of her and try to chase her away or worse! She gulped and looked down at the ground, a headband placed strategically over her forehead to keep her eyes from being seen but allow her to see. Anyone looking at her would see a girl with long green hair with what could be a bandage over her eyes.
Only one thing could have brought her confidence up to this level. She believed that she had met her soulmate! He wasn't what she had expected but her mother always said that he wouldn't be like she thought so now she was trying to find him again. She wanted to know everything there was about him but she also wanted to make him something special! Which is why she came to town. She needed to find some things that she didn't have enough of.
So she walked, not looking up just staring at the ground. Now she was getting a couple of looks, she was someone unknown and with what looked like a bandage over her eyes, they probably assumed she was blind but she had no cane. Zalea had thought about doing that but she decided not to test it. She didn't want to run into anything!
She wasn't sure how but she ended up exactly where she needed to be. She glanced under her headband, using one hand to lift it so she could read what the store sign said. General store was written on it but she couldn't be sure if it was the store she needed. She replaced the headband frustrated. Zalea stood there trying to decipher where she should go. She decided to keep walking until she found what she was looking for, and if she didn't she would just go home and wait for Eric to come back.
And then she was suddenly falling towards the ground. She hit her head on the ground and the pain flashed through her head. She rolled over to one side and lay that way before losing consciousness. The last thing she saw through the bottom of her headband was a guy on a bench. She could only assume that she had tripped over his leg as the blackness closed in and claimed her.

Jake intensity jump up from his sleep, thinking he was just about to get yelled at by his mother for knotting off during his chores again. He did not know what aroused him, so he proceeded to look around his surroundings. The kid spent a few seconds scanning the area until his eyes fell on Zalea. He could only guess that she tripped over his leg which caused him to wake up. “Hey are you alright..?” He lowered himself onto one knee finally realizing that the girl was unconscious. Now what was he going to do? This was kind of his fault. Why couldn’t he just have done his chores? None of this would have happened if he did. He only had his mind of sleeping, nothing else. He was just so simple-minded sometimes. It even drove him mad from time to time.
At this point, the sixteen year old was in a panic. He knew he should go get a doctor, but he couldn’t just leave her here. Plus, he probably was not strong enough to carry her there either. He let out a sigh. At times like these he wished he was a lot taller and stronger than now. “Come on, please wake up.” He shook her a little. That didn’t seem to work out. His mind raced with random stupid thoughts. Jake could not come up with anything that could help her other than going to get a doctor. But, there was no way he could just leave her in this condition. He just figured to stay until she woke up. At least then he could bring her to doctor.
The sixteen year old sat there for another minute or two, thinking of what he should do exactly. There had to be something, right. Or was he just that much of idiot that he couldn't come up with any way to help. “I should have paid more attention in school.” Jake said, taking off his jacket. He folded it and carefully placed it under Zalea’s head. It was the least he could do. After all he was the cause of all this. |

❝ merii goo rando noritai no! tabun sonna ja dame desho! ❞ Zalea had a dream that she was fighting off a monster. He wanted her to use her powers to hurt others but she wouldn't have it. She fought the monster, not wanting to use her sight even on him. With one mighty blow she finished off the hideous creature and was met with a smiling face asking her if she was alright. It was weird because that voice made her head pound painfully.
She tried to say she was fine but her voice caught and the smiling boy faded away and she was just in blackness. Then she heard someone asking her to wake up. This was a strange dream... Zalea tried to answer again but still no voice came out. In fact, she couldn't even move her lips.
Her head still hurt but she felt something soft and warm under her head. She opened her eyes to see the bandage that she had been wearing to cover them and it all came back to her. Zalea had gone to town and fallen over someone and blacked out! She didn't immediately open her eyes because the last thing she wanted was to open her eyes and find someone staring into her green eyes and turning into stone!
So instead she casually moved her hand until she felt something soft. The shape and texture was definitely someone's hand but whose? She made a groaning sound and brought her other hand to her hand, making sure the headband was in place before she opened her eyes but also checking to make sure she wasn't bleeding from her head or anything. She felt no wetness so she figured it was just a bad bump.
Zalea realized that she had was probably still touching the other persons hand so she quickly brought her hand back to her side. "Wha- where am I?" Obviously she wasn't in a bed, unless the bed was made out of dirt. So she figured she was still where she had fallen.

At least she was awake. He wouldn’t know what to do if she did not stir. “You’re in town. Don’t you remember? ” He answered, tilting his head to the side. Already he could feel the nervousness flowing within him. He tried his best to ignore it for the moment. This girl needed the help more than anything by the looks of it. He did not have the time to waste on his fear of talking or being around the opposite gender. “Are you alright? Do you need a doctor or anything?” The kid could not help, but ask. After all, he was worried. He was the cause of it. He should have been doing his chore instead of slacking off like always. For now, he had calmed down from his previous panic attack. That is when the idiot finally got a good look at her. Jake had not seen her before around town. Was she new here? He shook his head, trying to erase his random thoughts. He had to focus on her well being before anything else. He was an idiot for even thinking about anything else.
The sixteen year old was really starting to feel uneasy. Why was this happening all of the sudden? It was like the concern of Zalea’s of well being was colliding with the nervousness altogether. Jake did whatever he could to wash away that feeling, but had no such luck. “A-are you new around here? I pretty sure I haven’t seen you around town…” He didn’t even know what he was doing anymore. He knew in the back of his mind that she probably should not be talking. After all, she did hit her head on the concrete. And here he was being his normal idiotic self.
He knew of the pain that she was going through. He had hit his head on so many things during his lifetime which is probably why he was such an idiot to being with. Jake fell quiet unsure of what to say. His face turning the color of red little by little. This had to be his first time being this close to a girl by his own will. Plus, he was lucky he did not pass out like he usually did when the kid was this close to the opposite gender. Usually, he would have fainted in only a matter of seconds.[/style] |

❝ merii goo rando noritai no! tabun sonna ja dame desho! ❞ Zalea felt her cheeks burn as he told her she was in town. Of course she was, and she was just where she had fallen. The boy standing over her seemed concerned, he must have been the one she tripped over. It only made sense, seeing how he was the only one who was with her.
At the mention of a doctor, she shook her head before exclaiming, "No! I don't-" She had shook her head too fast and ended up having to steady herself with her arms and cutting off mid sentence. She couldn't move her head too quickly right now apparently. "I don't need a doctor."
She might have a concussion but that was something she would deal with when she was back home. Right now, she had to be alert so she didn't accidently look someone in the eyes. Then he started asking her about herself. She tensed at that, she had only really talked to two others up until now. She glanced up for a moment at him before looking down at his feet again, careful to avoid his gaze. "I don't live in town..."
She felt nervous for some reason, maybe because the guy in front of her seemed to be too. She could see in the way he was carrying himself that he wasn't at ease around her. Did he know what she was capable of? How was that possible? She gulped before moving to get back to her feet.
The pain in her head throbbed slightly at the movement and she found herself having to steady herself and slowly work her way back to standing. Once she stood she gave a shy smile, looking at his feet rather than his face before giving a small bow, careful not to move too fast. "Sorry for the trouble!" She knew her face was red as she apologized then she turned and began walking in the direction she had came, her hand resting on her head in hopes she would be able to get to home without falling over again.

Jake watched the girl before him. There was something off, but he couldn’t really figure out what. She kept on avoiding eye contact. He decided to leave it be for now. It would be rude to prey in other people’s lives. Plus, there was the fact he only just met her and didn’t know her name just yet. “Are you sure you don’t need a doctor?” The sixteen year old asked again. She did not look like she was doing great. That fall must have actually did something to her. He could only watch her struggle with getting to her feet. Jake got up to his feet himself and put his jacket back on. He had no idea what to do. The situation was usually with him being the one who hurt himself, not the other way around. “It’s no big deal if you do. I could always just run and get one.” He couldn’t help but offer to help. He was a kind hearted teen who always wanted to help others. Even if he didn’t know the person he was helping. Besides, all of this was his fault he should have doing the chore given to him instead of falling asleep on a bench. But, as he always did he knotted off during the job given to him. The very same reason he got yelled at most of the time.
The kid stayed silent for another minute or two, trying his best to calm himself. The nervous feeling was not going to help. He needed to focus on the girl’s well being. Besides, this was not the time for him to be passing out either. That is when Zalea apologized giving him a bow, which in return made Jake’s face turn a deep crimson. “N-no it was my fault! I shouldn’t have been sleeping!" He blurted out. He could feel his heart racing in his chest. The sixteen year old took a couple of deep breaths, trying to calm himself down. This was not the time to be getting all worked up. It had of been a few minutes before Jake was somewhat his regular self.
It took a few seconds after that before the idiot noticed Zalea walking away. He couldn’t let her just leave like that. It was pretty obvious that her head was still in pain from the fall. Jake quickly grabbed his bag and stuffed the list of groceries he was supposed to get in it. “Hey!” He ran up to her almost tripping once, but somehow managed to catch himself before hitting the ground. “You shouldn’t just walk off like that! Can I at least help you get home?” He asked. This was more important than doing his chore. Helping this girl was more important. His parents would surely understand. |
