Ask the locals about the roots of the Sonnet family tree and they'll have quite the story to tell. A long line of ranchers who tilled the soil when the peninsula was nothing more than a desolate expanse of land and terrain. The parents of the latest generation were just the same, traditional and earnest in every perspective of their lives. Little did they know what seeds they were to sow would be the most unruly project they would ever come to encounter.

Fionn would be the first of the brood, followed by his younger sister, Zadie, seven years later. Born on a chilly winter evening, the fickle boy would be just the same as a child, picky and abrasive to all those that weren't his sister or his pet dog, Rosun. All the discipline his father attempted to instill in him merely shaped him to be less blatant about his intentions, disguising good behavior in demands of bribery and faulting blame on others for things he would 'never ever do'. This combined with exceptional grades groomed him for a long list of expectations, including that of inheriting the family farm.

The event that changed the bothersome path he strayed was an encounter with a traveling musician at the age of fourteen. Left with the very guitar from the musician's back, Fionn finally felt inspired, the first time in this miserable domestic life. Whenever there was a moment between school and his chores [or what he dropped his sister], he would be fiddling along with notes and melodies, dreaming of following the same path out of town.

Fionn shared a strong bond with only one person in the town, Zadie. Despite his teasing and constant torment of those around them, he cared deeply for the spunky girl he called his sister. He felt it was them against their parents, a literal combat of change versus tradition.

And he did just that. At the age of seventeen, nearly a week after graduating high school, Fionn disappeared. His guitar, a few sets of clothes and enough money stored away to book a one way ticket off the peninsula was all he took with him. He rarely speaks about what happened while he toured the cities, occupying bars and cafes across a vast amount of land and many beds in between. However, he also never speaks of why he returned to his resented home six years later, whatever feigned courtesies left behind the moment he boarded that plane away. Observers would note this date coincided with the Sonnet sibling dispute that set child against parent.
