Blythe was born and raised somewhere in the east. As the product of a small series of trysts between a young woman and mysterious traveler, she never knew her father; this combined with not being able to fit in easily and possessing magic made her childhood rough, but she managed. Blythe's mother worked as hard as any responsible person in her position would to be a good provider and caretaker. Clearly, she must have been doing something right because the Blythe everyone knows today ended up growing into a well-rounded adult.
In spite of this, Blythe did feel like something in her life wasn't right. She had no one to teach her how to properly use her abilities, which prompted her to start traveling in search of teachers and-- maybe-- her father. Of course, this not being some fairy tale, she never came across the mysterious man, but she did find what she was originally looking for. She learned something new everywhere she went, becoming some kind of jack of all trades while mastering none.
Lacking a proper teacher for her magical needs is what inspired her to become one once she had found herself comfortable somewhere, which ended up being Primula Town. She has presently been teaching youths how to hone their magical abilities for about five years now and is quite content with her life choices.
