Elaina is someone who is rather disconnected from her roots. Her parents were the owners of a ritzy hotel chain in the city and, as a result, were ridiculously rich. Physically, Elaina did not want for anything growing up. However, in what seems to Elaina a painfully cliché twist, her parents were chronically absent. Her best and sometimes only friend was her twin brother, Kiran, whom she was fiercely protective over.
Elaina entered her rebellious stage around the age of five and has remained there ever since. Her parents tried desperately to breed her as a proper debutante, but Elaina fought them at every chance. Indeed, anyone who knows her now would have a hard time believing that this brash young lady was ever part of society’s upper crust. As a teenager, both she and her twin fell into most of the typical rebellious teen traps: falling into the wrong crowd, picking up bad habits, etc. Most of it was a deeply buried ploy to get some sort of attention, but it ultimately ended with dissatisfaction.
However, one day, her father had enough and kicked Kiran out of their home. Enraged and missing her best friend, Elaina left and never looked back. For five years, she has been wandering all over, doing every odd job you can imagine. She hopes someday her brother may join her, but she has a hard time keeping track of him. But for now, Elaina is proud, self-sufficient, and hard edged. Her once pampered life style is completely a thing of the past.
