Elena Norrington wasn't born a thief, although she likes to think so. The oldest child born to Katherine Norrington and an absent father from the moment she was born. However, this didn't bother the girl at the time; living with her mother was more than enough for her. It was just mother and daughter for the first seven years of her life, and then Katherine remarried. Victor Parns became Elena’s new stepfather, and with that she gained two stepsisters, Maria who was her age and Christina who was ten. Maria and Christina were used to being rather spoiled and thus had much nicer things than Elena. From the clothes on their back to even the pencils they used for school, Elena was always in envy. She began pilfering from their rooms over time, at first it was just small and unimportant things, an eraser, a cheap piece of jewelry, or a magazine. It never went beyond that though.
This went on for about years, the sisters never mentioning anything to Elena or their parents. One night this all changed though. When Elena and Maria were fifteen, Maria returned home late one night and suddenly accused her stepsister of stealing an expensive diamond necklace from her. This was one were occasion were Elena hadn’t played thief, because of her habits in the past though no one believed her, including her own mother. Since the girl didn’t have it, she was forced to get a part-time in Victor’s office in order to help pay off the necklace. Knowing she had no proof to say otherwise, Elena quietly did her work and paid off the necklace as quickly as she cold. This incident destroyed all trust she had left in her mother though and any chance she had of forming a relationship with her step family.
She kept her head down in her family and left as soon as she could once she turned eighteen. Elena moved to the city for a time being and returned to her old habits of thieving, improving some skills along the way. With her past experiences though, Elena knew to stay away from stealing objects from people outright. In the city she became known to a few people who needed sensitive items back. She would take the odd job getting back pictures, a file, or even just a phone number. However, with the territory came enemies. In the past year she stole something back from the wrong people and began receiving threats. Figuring it was time to move on anyway Elena made the move to someplace else, which just happened to be Sepalum Peninsula.
