history
Lou Castle was born and raised in the Sepalum Peninsula — the townhouse she grew up in smelled like firewood and spices and damp grass. It was small, but warm and welcoming, and she had a room all to herself. It was decorated in candy pastels and oversized furniture, littered with odd trinkets and baubles she liked to collect over the years. When she was young, her mother would bring her pressed and dried wild flowers to keep in a small album by her bedside. Her father wasn’t home often, but when he was, he would wrap her in a thick wool blanket and tell her stories he made up.
Overall, Lou had a pleasant childhood. She spent a lot of her time outdoors catching beetles and playing explorer with the neighbourhood kids. In school, she was far from being the brightest student, but she worked hard and her grades were decent. Average, average, below average, slightly above average. She was friendly and got along well with most of her peers, and she went into everything with her whole heart.
It was at the age of twelve when Lou had sewn her first article of clothing. It was tawdry and homespun, made out of cotton and badly cut thread, but her parents were proud of her and let her wear it around all the same. Over the years, her skills gradually developed from brightly-dyed summer dresses to clothes that were as simple or intricate as need be, and after her years at school were done she took up a position as a tailor at the local clothes store.
skills
- mining: level one.
- fishing: level one.
etc.
- Ever since she was a child, Lou considered frosty weather to be a sinister adversary — she was and is extremely sensitive to the cold and, during the chilly seasons, is often seen bundled up within an inch of her life. With the exception of snow on winter festivals, the icy climate strongly bothers her, and often causes her to lose any resolve or concentration.
- Lou has the most horrible time making herself clear. She speaks better with actions and sounds, and occasionally bursts into simulative noises if she can’t find the right words. For example, if you were asking her about why it was so hot in her room and the simple response would be, “the fan’s stopped working,” Lou would find it far easier for herself to windmill her arms, blow a raspberry and swipe her hand across her throat.
- The girl has a nasty habit of getting lost, even in places that are familiar to her. This is primarily because Lou never quite pays attention to her surroundings, attributed to the fact that her mind remains mostly on daydreams and work, even when it should be focused on getting her to where she should be.
- It doesn’t take much to figure out that Lou is awful at memorizing names on a day to day basis. As a result, every single person she knows — and even those that she eventually grew close to — was (and maybe even still is) called some form of nickname that is either inclined towards their character or descriptive of the instance during which she met them.
