She herself would often times be mistaken for human because of the clothes that the woman had provided for her, of course the clothes never stayed dry since Nea was practically in the water 24/7. And as long as her tail wasn't seen, most humans just left her be should they spot her. It seemed there had been an influx of merpeople lately, and so it wasn't so surprising or intriguing anymore, even though the merpeople were rarely seen.
With no where to go, Nea simply mingled around the beach, she couldn't swim as far as she'd like anymore because of her tail, but she got a just a little father everyday. She would swim and swim as far from the peninsula as she could before she got too tired or the pain was imply too much to bear, and she would dejectedly swim back to the shore. On the nights when it was clear and there was no one in sight, she would call out the familiar screech of her clansmen, hoping that maybe they would hear her and come for her to take her home, but by dawn, for the past few weeks, no one came.
So now, another new day when the sun has just passed it's zenith, Nea sat, with her tail languidly flopping in the water while she ate a basket of fruits. Occasionally when some humans got a little too close for comfort, she'd let out a screech to scare them off, it usually worked, but it seemed today there were a couple of humans that didn't know when to leave a woman be.

The pirate attack here on the beach was not pleasant to say the least. Fights broke out and Ringo nearly drowned from the experience. Worst of all, he wasn't prepared and because of that he was little help and nearly drowning must've been an inconvenience to more than just Ringo himself.
Ringo pondered as he walked on to the beach. This time around he was wearing much more proper attire for the beach. A light blue jacket and some black swim trunks that go past his knees a little. He looked around at the beach and bent down. Ringo wanted investigate a few things on the beach and prepare for future incidents...not to mention try to remember that spell that extended the time he can have air underwater.
As he looked at the sea and took out a sandwich and started to eat it. Ringo had to do some studying but he might as well study the area and see what he can do next time...he hated being sneaky but maybe placing a few rituals here might be a good idea.
As he walked, he heard a crunch. The sound of someone or something biting down on fruit. Ringo looked up and closed his eyes to focus his hearing. He stood up and started to investigate. As he walked, he finally gazed upon it. A girl with long blue hair...however as he looked down he noticed a mermaid tail. Another mermaid huh? They has been an influx of merpeople as of late. However, one thing did catch Ringo's attention. Her damaged tail. Judging from the condition, it seems like she had it for awhile. Wait that meant she can't swim properly right? She needs to see help...
"Hello." Ringo waved hello. He was being cautious this time since the last mermaid...well...didn't react the most positively to him would be putting it quite lightly. "I'm Ringo...a local...what brings you here?" Ringo might as well ease into conversation. After all, what's the worst that can happen?

TAGS Nea, Ringo WORDS 501 NOTES Bite dat booty Lately on nights at the beach, Fenryl’s stomach and spine had been crawling with fear, tingling with knowledge he’d rather he didn’t have. Merpeople were arriving more frequently now into the Peninsula, the blissful peace of the last three years shattered, his solitude broken.
And as he lay in his Merperson form in his rented room at the inn, those mournful howls that echoed through the night were only much more recipient to his ears. How could he forget that sound? The sound of one merperson lost and separated from the school, calling for its own kind. The screech beckoned him to the source right from his bones, robbing him of sleep and stealing him of his tranquillity.
The voice was distinctly female as it echoed through the waters and air around the Peninsula, and Fenryl was unsure whether Humans or either Magical Beings could hear it. He doubted it, which helped alleviate some of the stress, but unless this Merperson was found by another soon, he’d go insane staying away from the call. What if this torture never ended? What if he died from lack of sleep sooner or later, succumbing to the stress and go out of his way to just go drown in an ocean he can’t swim in? Or, goddess forbid, the calls stop and he considers that she died from another pirate invasion.
Rubbing his dark-rimmed eyes of sleep, Fenryl groggily paced down Rosa Beach with a basket of seafood under his arm, his sword sheathed and nestled at the hip. Even staying in his Merperson form was exhausting at this point, especially since he just got out of it.
But then, that screech. But it was different; it was to scare away, not beckon. Instincts jammed his reasoning; Fenryl started sprinting down the beach, boots kicking up the sand as he heaved the basket over his shoulder. Breathing steady, grey eyes darted around the shoreline, watching for what he was looking for. His long purple hair whipped his face, sea breeze stinging his eyes as the sun blared down from a cloudless sky and leaving little shade.
The beach was fortunately fairly unoccupied excepting a few sunbathers, so Fenryl knew instantly which one was the screeching Merperson. The girl was washed up on the oceanfront in her Merperson form, and a human was nearby who approached her. Slowing his sprint to a stroll, determined angry eyes seethed at the blue-head, stopping a few short steps. He completely ignored the human although he had heard his words and name, raising a hand to halt him.
“Stop calling me, dammit,” he hissed between his teeth, glaring at the girl. “Some of us like being on land.”
He turned away from her then sighing exasperatedly, before glancing to the boy.
“Sorry, carry on.”
The Merman turned around, facing away from the group in order to beseech his instincts to shut up. For a moment, he rubbed his temples before itching his tear ducts.
Maybe I’ll finally get some goddess damned sleep now… he thought with some hope.
The chick was fine after all, she was just unused to humans...

Although his hesitancy and introduction had stopped her for a moment. Well, obviously he was a local...wasn't everyone around here. A pout made it's way to her lips and she stuck her tongue out at the boy, she didn't find it necessary to reply, but she was curious as to what else he would say.
She turned on her belly, arms supporting her head, as her tail continued to stay in the water, the waves languidly crashing into her. It was at that moment, that she heard another set of heavy footsteps. When she was able to see the cause, the woman...or was it a man? She sniffed the air to be sure, but found that the smell of the sea obscured her senses. For now, she will simply assume that this newcomer was a man, seeing that he lacked the bosom to be considered a woman...unless they were one of those underdeveloped sort.
He hissed at her, making her frown and growl as she hissed in retaliation. Calling him? Hmph, she'd never call someone so rude and androgynous. He even had the gall to turn his back on her, after being so rude. The least he could do was explain himself. 'You'll regret meeting me, boy.' As silently as she could, she turned to the brunette human and placed a finger to her lips, indicating him to be silent, and showed him her fangs as a threat if he didn't comply.
She then carefully approached the girlish, purple-haired man from behind, she knew she probably shouldn't do what she thought of doing, goodness knows she's gotten into all sorts of trouble for her antics, but this boy had irked her and so without a second thought she threw the apple core she had in her hand as hard as she could at his purple-haired head, and did the one thing she knew that would get anyone to become angry...she bit him...on his bottom. Similar to a tiny dog, biting the derriere of a mailman.

The blue haired girl stared at Ringo. Ringo stared back in response. It was awkward to say the least. He wondered if mermaids have their own language. Wouldn't be surprisingly since there is a variety of human languages. Instead of words, Ringo's actions were responded with an action. The girl stuck her tongue out at him. He was confused by this to say the least. Before he could ponder any meanings though.
“Stop calling me, dammit,” Ringo looked over to see a...man? Hard to tell for a moment because of the long black hair and feminine features. The man glared at the girl on the ground. “Some of us like being on land.” He then turned to Ringo. “Sorry, carry on.” As the man turned over to walk away Ringo noticed the blue haired girl putting a finger to her lips indicating for him to be silent. Okay so she knows common gestures but what does that have to...
bite
Ringo could not believe what he was seeing. He had to blink a few times just to check if he was dreaming or something. The girl threw the apple core at the man...and then attempted to bite his bottom. Ringo wasn't sure what to do. He can't exactly pull her off but he can't just leave the man to be doomed to his fate.
"Um...can you stop please?" Ringo asked the mermaid. True the man could be nicer but none the less this is...just an odd situation Ringo has gotten himself into.

TAGS Nea, Ringo WORDS 511 NOTES heh heh So after this job and about three Merman breaks…I need eggs, milk and some fruit. Fenryl thought, ticking off the shopping list in his head. Maybe if he got enough seafood in this basket his client would let him keep some of it if he was lucky.
…But what if he didn’t, and didn’t even like anything he gave him and refused to pay him? What if the asshole was on this beach…right now…watching him slack off. A quick glance up and down the beach disproved that, but still it put the Merman on edge as his minutes as a human trickled away.
Flexing his wrist as if to get rid of the shiver that crawled through his body, he glanced back to the salty shores to try to pick out some shallow reefs. Those would be ample targets for getting some crabs or fish that got caught in the low tide. His eyes were above the madness of the shorter people nearby, so he didn’t see any sort of apple core until the last moment. Leaning to get his head out the way, he frowned as some perfectly good food rolled in the sand. Apple core or no, it was still edible.
But then his tired brain remembered that this was thrown at him, and Fenryl began turning around to address this.
Suddenly sharp pain ricocheted from his butt and automatically the Merman slammed his teeth on his tongue to prevent the cry of pain. Instead, his entire body straightened as his pain whittled out through his teeth, basket dropping to the floor.
“Nnggf!”
Snapping around with his expression shock and anger, he could see the Mermaid clenching quite vigorously onto his ass with her teeth.
“What the hell?” he seethed, trying to twist around to get her off. The human nearby wasn’t really helping.
Please don’t tear the clothes don’t tear the clothes don’t tear the clothes…
He could think of one way to make her let go – turning into a Merman. But that was risky, his job aside. His blade dangling on his hip could expose him and endanger them all. He growled. He wouldn’t give in. But if she clenched for much longer he’d be forced to transform anyway…
“You call our kind with your screeching every night, and you wonder why I’m pissed?!” he snapped, voice deep and brittle. The twisting of his waist was getting painful as he had his hands on her shoulder and head, trying to push her off.
“For the Goddess’ sake, get off me before-”
But then his heartbeat echoed around his brain. Agonising if familiar pain down to his bones spiralled through him as he transformed into the Merman, forcing Fenryl to collapse onto his knees. Fins grew from his back and elbows, the shark-fin tail flicking into view as his legs merged.
“Stupid girl…” he muttered, breathing heavily. He glanced up to the human then though, a brief glint of regret through his face. “Sorry you’re witness to Merpeople problems.”

He even attempted to physically remove her from his person. At that point she was more than satisfied with her work, and was even going to let go at the brunette human's plea to cease such actions, however, before she could willingly let go, she instead dropped her grip as she let out a small gasp at the purple-head's sudden transformation. Upon seeing his tail, she became confused and a slight bit weary. 'He's...like me?' Curiously, Nea examined the merman, tilting her head side to side with slight wonder in her eyes. 'Funny, he didn't taste fishy when I bit him.' She pouted at the thought. Then an idea came to her, if he didn't taste fishy when she bit him...then perhaps... Turning to the brunette human, she let out a soft mewl, and tilted her head to the side as her tail swished fluidly on the sand. She was trying to ask him for permission, or at least his compliance. She hoped he wouldn't judge her too badly for what she was about to do, considering if she were correct in her assumption, this merman would probably kill her for what she had in mind. Turning back to the purple-head, she let out another mewl, this time of victory, even going as far as puffing her chest out, taking great pride in the fact that she practically brought him down to his knees on her own, even though technically, it was his transformation that brought him down. Never-the-less, she did what came naturally to her when announcing her achievement and laying claim to it. Just like her guardian had taught her she used the skill that turned her tail into legs. Her tail shimmered for a moment, as a split came running up the middle of her sky blue tail, and in an almost non-visible flash, her scales melted into each other and even changed to the colour of flesh as they gave way to her legs. The scars on her right leg were more than visible, jagged yet thin as they ran from her foot all the way up to her thigh. On slightly wobbly knees, she stood and waddled her way over to the fallen purple-head, occasionally tripping once or twice, but catching herself just in time. She mewled at him again, this time simply to express a greeting. She moved as quickly as she could and bent down to grab his arms, hoping to pin him down before he decided to crawl away from her, and to ensure he wouldn't slap her off with his tail, she'd decided to sit just below his stomach and clamp her thighs tightly on his waist. At the very least if he decided to push her off, she'd simple take him with her. She smiled down at her 'catch' and then turned her head to look at the brunette human, giving little mewls as if to say. 'Look what I caught! Look what I caught!', she stopped mid-mewl however when she remembered something, she had brought her prey down, now she had to lay claim, 'Now...how did they do it again?...Oh yes.' With a wicked grin, she bent her head down close to the purple-head's face, and closing her eyes slightly, she ran her tongue over his lips, slowly, intimately, making sure to get a relatively good taste. When she pulled back, she smacked her own lips and held her gaze skyward in thought. Was it simply her imagination, or did he distinctly taste like peaches? Shrugging she turned back to the brunette human and mewled in question, as if to ask 'You want to try?' | [atrb=style, background-color:#66aadd;,bTable] |

“You call our kind with your screeching every night, and you wonder why I’m pissed?!” The black haired man said. He was struggling to get the mermaid off of him. It was also not clear that the girl was not going to listen to his request. “For the Goddess’ sake, get off me before-” The man collapsed on the ground and, much to Ringo's shock, he watched the man's legs turn into a tail. “Sorry you’re witness to Merpeople problems.”
"It's alright..." Ringo's still trying to find away off of her but then he felt a shudder down his spine as he watched the mermaid. He watched the girl transform her tail into legs...and saw the scars in better detail. There was no way she could even properly walk, and even if she could it would be painful at least in Ringo's mind. That terror...soon transformed into awkwardness.
The girl walked over and then sat on the man's stomach. She grabbed his arms and pinned him down. Ringo was not exactly sure where this was going...yet his deep subconscious is telling him this isn't exactly something he should be looking at. Ringo felt another shudder. Not exactly out of horror but suddenly the girl attempted to lick the man's lips.
"H-hey I don't think...!" Ringo felt a chill as she looked at him. She let out a mewl of sorts. He wondered if it was a question. Judging by her look it would be a yes. Ringo...didn't exactly know how to respond to this. All he did was nod as if in understanding when he can't predict her behavior at the moment. He looked at the merman with a look of apologetic confusion as he doesn't exactly know how to get the mermaid off of him.

TAGS Nea, Ringo WORDS 714 NOTES omg long post Making any kind of communication with this girl was proving quickly fruitless, and as Fenryl huffed slightly to himself and glared to the open blue sky, he thought about how to proceed. Actions certainly seemed to get across his point more, as whence he transformed into a Merman, she was certainly surprised enough to take pause – for one she stopped biting him. And thank the Goddess, his clothes were intact. But as he sat down on the sand like this, leaning back on his hands, observing this crazy Mermaid was all he could do.
But then he noticed her tail, and grey eyes flickered with surprise.
…She can’t swim like that… he thought, gaze softening. How has she been surviving? I doubt she’s been on land much…
However, she then puffed out her chest and looked very pleased with herself then, inciting another burst of anger from Fenryl’s eyes. Stretching out his own tail with some painful difficulty, Fenryl snorted a little at the Mermaid’s victory pose, but ultimately said nothing. His strategy was still incomplete on how to deal with her.
Yet being somewhat near the shore was as good an opportunity as any, so sitting up he began massaging his wasted fins. Grey, lifeless and flabby, his Merman muscles really held no spark of life compared to his human form. The gills on his neck were useless, his dorsal fin drooping from his head and back.
Pathetic really.
The one thing he was glad of though was the human’s understanding, giving him a small grateful smile at his response. What was his name…he had heard it upon his entrance he knew that…Ringo wasn’t it?
On the other hand, was this an opportunity to attempt to converse with the chick, try to figure out their misunderstanding and perhaps just put it behind them? Or what if he just had to put up with her mewling until he found the energy to transform back into a human? How long was that? A few minutes? Bah, but what if-
He had stopped thinking, real shudders beginning to crawl up his spine at perhaps the same moment as the human’s as the Mermaid transformed into a human herself. Strolling over to him, Fenryl eyed her suspiciously, before she promptly sat herself down on his stomach. Heavy on his unused muscles, Fenryl let out a grunt of pain, his breathing suddenly impaired as he had to take deeper breaths to survive.
But speaking was useless – he knew this now. So he attempted to communicate his confusion with his eyes and expression, but even that was proving fruitless. Was she just trying to play a game, further squash her victory over him in his face, or something else? He was soon answered, as the girl grasped his biceps, and with a firm push, thrust his back and head into the sand. More pain flickered through his body with another grunt, sweat taxing his body as his breathing continuing to slacken.
Yet then the girl was leaning in, and Fenryl went white as he jerked his head to the side away from her.
“Hey Ringo!” he cried, desperation within his voice. “Do something! Quickly!”
His arms were pinned, no strength pulsing through them. Utterly, completely, helpless. Her grin was unabated evil. She knew what she was doing, the little witch! Teeth gritted, Fenryl’s disgust radiated around him, clenching his fists. But still she didn’t stop, and still she licked his lips.
The feeling felt worse than he imagined, her fishy breath reminding him of his home all too much. It wasn’t his first kiss or intimacy by any means, but under these circumstances it was stomach turning. He desperately wanted to wipe his lips of it, but his arms remained pinned.
“Lot of help you were,” Fenryl scoffed at Ringo, sharply exhaling and rolling his eyes at his apologetic confusion.
However, a few logical ideas surfaced. Attempting to bite her when she was close, spitting in her face, all these wonderful solutions came to mind to let her know he didn’t want this. But he couldn’t. It was like it would go everything he was ever taught about honourable battle. Not that this was really a battle, but still…it would feel wrong. Think…what do all animals like?
Feeling his strength return somewhat, he would attempt to wrench himself out of her grip with one hand, and felt behind him for the basket he brought. Feeling inside, he’d pull out one of the fish meant for his client and bringing it up, try to stuff the thing in her mouth. But still, he was unable to breathe, now noticeably raspier and sharp.
Hopefully…that's enough to get her off me... he thought, as he let his hand drop.

She felt his response should have been more...enthusiastic. Not liking the odd feeling, she turned back to the purple-head, her cerulean gaze shimmering with confusion. A feeling of unease building in her chest. Looking down at her prey, she stared for a moment not really sure what she was looking for, but then she heard the faint sound of a rasp. Like a jolt of lightning striking her, her gaze widened as clarity and recognition registered in her observation of the boy she'd pinned under her.
'Is...he hurt?' That definitely was not her intention, well it was when she bit him, but that was because he'd been so rude, and her temper had gotten the best of her, but he did look to be in a bit of pain. She pouted and mewled in slight concern, she hadn't meant to hurt him by pinning him down, simply to just exert the fact that she'd bested him, which was a rare occurrence for her. Such behavior for her was normal, natural for her, it was what she had been taught since she was a child, but the way he'd reacted to her so far, she had easily deciphered as anger and disgust. That was not how skirmishes went for her or her people.
That's when a frightening realization came to her. 'He's not...like me...at all. He's...' with whatever graceless speed she had, she jumped away from the purple-head, getting off him so fast it was as if he had physically burned or struck her. As she scrambled back and away as far from him as possible, her thoughts run away with her.
'He's one of them... I have to...get away.' But before she could get far enough away, she bumped into the brunette human. Looking up, she looked at him with guilt and fear. 'I...I didn't mean to, I didn't know...he's not...going to hurt me right? you wouldn't either...right? You're a nice human...aren't you?' she whimpered, not knowing what to do, but she was sure of one thing she couldn't stay here, especially not with that purple-head around. She should have realized it the moment he'd opened his mouth that he wasn't like her. Anyone of her people, human form or no, would have simply scolded her with a look, no words needed.
Not waiting for either of these two to form a thought about her odd behavior, she began to crawl away from them. Her heart was already beating a mile a minute from her realization, her fear and anxiety only growing worse as her imagination dragged her into horrible scenarios of what these two would do to her should they find out what she was. No, she definitely would not let that happen. However, she didn't get very far away before a sharp jolt of pain shot from her foot, and climbing all the way up her leg and to her lower back.
"Ergh!" she grunted in pain, trying to keep from screaming. It felt like a thousand electrified needles were ripping out of her skin from the inside. Tears formed at the corner of her eyes, but still she refused to cry out. If any more humans came stumbling by, it would only worsen her condition. Even worse than that, they could be like that woman who had offered to take her to see a healer. As if any human healer could ever fix her, or if she'd even let them.
'I can't trust anyone here...I've been so stupid. Ah!' Her knee wobbled, and she clutched at her scarred thigh, as if trying to keep her balance. She groaned again, and the next thing she knew, she was on her side, instinctively curling into a ball, to try and suppress the pain and to keep herself from twitching too much. She grit her teeth, she just had to bear it, just for a little while. Then she could escape and hide away from these people until she could find a way to return home.

“Hey Ringo!” Fenryl said in panic, interrupting Ringo's thoughts of an way to get the mermaid off of him without any harm to neither party. “Do something! Quickly!” Too bad Ringo wasn't really able to fulfill his request, Ringo being shocked at the mermaid's actions. “Lot of help you were,” The man started to use his own ideas instead of relying on the help of a random messy haired person.
Suddenly though, the blue haired mermaid had a look of fear as if realizing something. She jumped away from the purple haired man. The girl's whimper only further confirmed her fear of the two men. She began to crawl away before trying to get away.
"W-wai...!" Before Ringo could finish she let out a small welp of pain before stumbling over after a failed attempt at walking. The mermaid curled into a ball trying to suppress whatever agony she is going through. Ringo quickly turned to the man. He noticed the sword. "Can I borrow your sword! I need something to draw blood so I can write!" Ringo had no time to explain but he needed to at least stop the pain. "I am not exactly a healer but I can suppress the pain with magic a little."
