[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] | { | "I know it's me, I could be one of the millions." ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ How often is it does he get to go out like this in the afternoon nowadays? Once a week? He's not even sure anymore. Lately the only things that has been revolving in his head were plans for the future, and plans to keep his old man intact. He used to be more frequent here when he was kid. Lee used to venture our and explore by himself, sometimes meet some of the kids that lived with the adult ranchers, but most of the time Lee just messed around by himself along with his imaginations. Finding himself here again by the edge of the river bank, Lee is alone once again. The boy took his bag off his shoulders and placed it on the patch of grass behind him, letting the blades bend and act as a mat for the bag. He took few deep breathes, idly darting his gaze from side to side to enjoy the sight he's presented with. Turning around and crouching right in front of the bag he just placed, he untied the fishing rod that was neatly knotted with the bag's sling. To save him from the trouble of recreating this type of tie, Lee just loosened it before pulling the rod out. After hooking the bait, which was an earthworm from the can inside his bag, he immediately turned around and cast a line. This is very relaxing for the young man. The scenery, the ambiance, everything about it was just soothing. The sky painted in a mixture of orange and blue as the sun readies itself to settle, the wind gently caressing his skin as well as the tune played by the river. Everything about it gives a steady atmosphere, it's almost tempting to take a nap. This is why Lee settled and claimed himself a spot. A tree with boulder on the side, it's large enough for him to lean on and let the tree cover him from the sunlight. Just when he was about ready to get quick Z's, his line shook. It wasn't an aggressive one, but it was enough for Lee to get him excited. Out of reflex, he started reeling in. By all of the power of whichever deity's responsible for bad luck, he reeled in a pair of shorts. This has to be one of the weirdest things he had caught from all his fishing years. It's funny for some, but Lee got upset for two things. One, it's not a fish, two, it's proof that more people have been throwing garbage in the river. Picking up a sound nearby, maybe it was grass or a splash, he wasn't really sure, but his brain told him to unhook the shorts and throw it back in. Which he did, but quickly he turned his head from the direction where the sound came from then back at the direction where he threw the shorts, why? Well he's not happy about the garbage in the river, why should he be happy on tossing the thing back in? Such an embarassing sight. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ "I never trusted anything to survive." |

Maya didn't get any sleep. Why? Because some stupid group of teen aged humans had come to the river and had a huge party, which normally Maya would have been all about and went to go and party with them. But they where loud, and annoying and making a mess of her gorgeous river, so she stayed hidden and waited for them to leave. Though, the humans didn't leave until just about an hour ago. So Maya couldn't sleep with their loud music and constant shouting. There was obviously something mentally wrong with these humans as they had been stumbling about until they passed out onto the ground. Maya wouldn't ever understand what was fun about trashing up her gorgeous home, so after they left Maya had decided she had to clean the river.
So she's been doing that running on almost no energy. Also, no where really to put the trash either. She would have to some how get it into town and find someone to depose of it for her. Sometimes being stuck to water could be really annoying. She sighed, collecting a heap of trash. And just as she was about to collect one of the humans clothing pieces, it was yanked away from her right in front of her face. Maya was left there confused for a moment, before peeking her head above water to see a young fisherman looking the clothing piece for a moment, before hearing something apparently and throwing the shorts back. Oh, no. That was the last straw. She grabbed the cloth and quickly swam over to the boy.
"No." She said shoving the clothing back into his hands. She glared at him. "I've spent all morning cleaning up after people like you, go and take that to wherever it needs to go. Which is not in the river." She continued. "And while you're at it." She started, before going back into the river and heading to the other side and collect as much of the trash she could carry and running it back to him. "Put this there too." She said with a firm nod. "A bunch of people came up and threw a huge party, and you're just not helping, so you might as well be a little bit useful, alright?" LAIKA OF GS!

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] | { | "I know it's me, I could be one of the millions." ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Maybe he should have paid attention to his surrounding some more. Lee was pretty positive that he was all by himself, but apparently he thought wrong. The appearance of the female merfolk surprised him. It doesn’t seem like it according to his facial expression and body gesture, but he really is. He should really consider their existence some more, recently the peninsula’s getting more of these folks. She shoved him the pants he just threw, Lee didn’t put up a fight with it, but the shorts were still wet, so in turn he got his shirt saturated with some water and some on his shoe. To prevent it from soaking anything else further, he took a step back and let his hand stay on where it was so he can increase the distance between him and the shorts. Lee stopped and stared at the female, quietly listening to her banter about a group of noisy ragtags having a party here and messing the place up. It was odd for him because he didn't really see any more of these trashes on land. It seemed that they cleaned up, just not the proper way or at least didn't exert much effort. They just them in the river and let the water do the rest of the cleaning for them, which is completely horrible because it takes a long time to completely wash that away, and an even longer time if the object’s a bit too foreign. The young man just stood there with the shorts in one hand, watching the other go back in the river and collect some more of the items that were scattered all over the body of water. It’s a bit of a weird habit, but then again it’s not like he gets to see a merfolk every day, in fact he might still be able to count his meeting with one with just one hand. Curiosity filled him up as he started to wonder how they get to determine their scale color and fin shape; maybe it’s like hair or something? If he remembers it right, when sea creatures get together that’s from different shades, the pattern’s going to be assorted and wild, even the very contrast of the scales varies. The pair of dull eyes widening for a second as he snaps out of his moment of wonder, the girl was coming back with a lot of these random objects. Instantly and obediently, Lee let his left hand to be free, dropping his fishing rod as he braces the rest of the garbage in his arms, with the pants acting as the very foundation of this pile. It was heavier than the usual, probably because they were wet. He started feeling the water trickle down in one sleeve letting discomfort unnerve him from such movement. Lee didn't like it, and the other wasn't really specific of where he should put it. So he just places it there, and there is just a few steps away up and dropping the pile on to the grass. One of the cans started rolling back down, but the male managed to stop its course with a foot and placed it neatly on the pile where it can’t move. Suddenly, he’s doing chores again. Lee sat on the grass, he took his shoes off and rolled his pants up. He didn't protest, he didn't complain, but he sure would appreciate a time to kick back and not karma to kickback the smallest things back to him. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ "I never trusted anything to survive." |
