history
when he was young, he had lived quite the life. his parents were new money and they had tons of it. more than they could even begin to know what to spend it on. they bought a quaint little beach house where they proceeded to raising their one and only child. unfortunately, it was that small mistake that had caused them to also lose their child. he had wandered too far down the beach and had been unlucky enough to encounter one of those new age pirates who was quick to spirit him away upon realizing how much the child was worth. after all. the way he was dressed and what he carried on his person? it wasn't exactly misleading by any means at all. however as time wore on, it didn't seem like elijah had any such intentions of returning home regardless of the ransom that the pirates were holding him for. it had been paid in full and the child was returned. but it was clear to his parents that he was no longer the child that they were familiar with.
from his childhood until his late teens, he dreamed of escaping to the great open sea. it was so much more preferable to the stuffy life he was forced to live by his parents. he had everything that he could ever want. everything he could ever ask for. that was. everything outside of his freedom. so by the time he was sixteen, he had enough of it and took off all on his own with all the savings he had gathered. he bought a ship, gathered a crew, and set out on the ocean blue to live the pirate life that he always wanted to. aye, he's lived an eventful life. sword fights at sea, stealing away the hearts of cute maidens and boys in distress. eating everything and anything, pillaging towns. yeah. it was quite the life. it was great, he thought. and he wished that such a life could have continued up unto this point.
it was an unfortunate accident really. they had set out to sea in the height of a storm and the ship had wrecked out on the high seas. and with his ship sank his treasure and some of his crew. elijah just happened to be lucky enough to catch onto something before he had gone down with his ship. all great captains went down with their ships. but he wasn't so sure he could do such a thing. he eventually drifted to the sepalum peninsula where he has proceeded to try and make something of a living of himself. he isn't so sure that he wants to still be a pirate anymore after he had shamed himself by not going with his ship. but he still wants to set out to sea again. maybe not a pirate. but as soon as possible.

- elijah speaks with a sort of tang of the sea. he constantly refers to directions in terms of a ship and seems to feel the need to add 'aye' or abbreviate words to the point where it doesn't even sound like the word anymore. he used to be capable of speaking normally once upon a time but it doesn't seem like he's capable of doing such a thing anymore.
- he is actually fluent in four languages. he doesn't like to show it off but hey. it came in to be quite helpful when he needed to go into unfamiliar ports. the languages that he is fluent in are english, spanish, italian, and french.
- he likes to call himself a jack of all trades. he works any and every job available to him regardless of what it may ask. you need a carpenter? he'll do it. a waiter? he has it. but with that said, he's capable of them all but an expert of none. but hey. whatever works right? he needs money and people need workers.
- elijah often claims that he has a hook hand. it's not true though, evidently. he only wears a false one for cliched purposes. in complete honesty, he only has a good couple of scars and injuries on left hand. and they're not just itty bitty cuts or bruises. nope. they're pretty bad but it doesn't seem like it bothers him at all. although if he uses his left hand extensively, it seems to bother him.
