Fishing pole in hand her gaze slowly traveled towards the water watching the red bobber slowly sway in the water. It was yet another peaceful day for Kolora after she finished her daily errands. She was lucky enough to have the day off but that left the poor girl wondering around not knowing what to do. After sleeping in and waking up in the afternoon Kolora still had time to burn. Others would have thought it was a fine idea to lie in bed all day but that was something that she didn’t want to do. Another yawn left her mouth as she began to second guess on her decision. Even after leaving the city Kolora was still tired no matter how long she slept. Perhaps it was because she stayed up far too late and waking up at odd hours of the night.
Her head slowly tilted to the side as a nice breeze ran threw her pink hair. After much pondering Kolora decided it would be best to go fishing. She was determined to actually catch something this time instead of zoning out like she normally did. Immediately she straightened her posture, rapidly blinked her eyes, and focused her eyes on the bobber yet again hoping that a fish didn’t take away her bait. As the minutes ticked by, her gaze traveled back towards the horizon silently admiring the endless sea. Kolora didn’t know the reason as to why she was so distracted by the ocean, or anything for that matter.
No matter what the twenty-four year old always found something to zone out on and eventually come back to earth having someone stare at her strangely. It was embarrassing, especially if she was staring at someone for no apparent reason. A small blush slowly grew on her cheeks just remembering the last time she had to explain to a stranger that she didn’t mean to stare at them in such a ‘dazed’ gaze.
She felt a small tug on her rod which indicated that she had caught something. Right away she began the reel in the fish, excited that she finally got something. But her excitement washed away after pulling the hook out of the water seeing that there was no fish in sight. “Ahh~ Again!?” she whined, head tilting back in frustration, “This is the second time.” came her tiny voice yet again as she placed the pole next to her, and then laying alongside the object. Her gaze was on the stuck to the water for a moment before her eyes traveled elsewhere landing on a stranger not too far from her.
“Uhm,” she began slowly sitting up to face the figure, “What’s the secret to fishing? I must be missing something here.” she asked towards them as her brows scrunched together in frustration, surely they knew more than her. |

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width:350px;,bTable] "What did I tell ya, Kolora?" Mako said as he walked up from behind Kolora and sat down next to her, dangling his legs off the wooden pier. He was beaming with a warm heartfelt smile, teeth showing and all. Mako hadn't seen Kolora in awhile, since she was usually working at the clinic most of the time. Mako, being rather healthy, never found a reason to visit the clinic unless he needed a routine check up.
Still, it was nice to see Kolora out again, her vibrant pink hair and pretty face was always a delight. They've talked a few times before, but Mako could not remember a time where the two were really alone together.
"You have to know the difference between a curious fish and a fish that's taken your bait!" he reminded her as he picked up her fishing pole, grabbed a piece of bait lying around them, hooked the piece onto the end of the line, and cast the line out into the sea. He heard a plop noise as the bobber dropped below the surface.
"Once ya know the difference, you won't come up empty handed, here you go!" he handed Kolora back her fishing pole and smiled, "I'm sure you'll get the hang of it someday!"

Her embarrassment soon melted away as she spotted his smile, her once tense shoulders began to relax as he took a seat next to her. Mako was someone she randomly came across when she spent her days fishing. He was a great help, he knew a lot more to fishing than she did and was always willing to hear his ‘words of wisdom’.
Crossing her legs she watched as he attached another piece of bait to her hook, “That’s too difficult.” she commented, brows still scrunched together, “I hardly know the difference between a bass and a herring.” her bottom lip poked out. Kolora was never the one to act mature around others that were younger than her. Sure, she had to set an example for some but she found being herself was so much easier on her part.
“You should just catch fish for me Mako.” a small smile found its way to her lips as she grabbed the fishing pole away from his grasp, “Thank you.” she gave a small nod before her eyes went to the ocean thinking for a moment. “I hope so too! I want to catch something huge one day.” came her childish reply with a small laugh.
Her gaze went back towards Mako eyeing him for a moment then raising a brow, “Have you been doing well? It’s been a while since we actually talked.” she grinned for a moment before looking back at her line intently wondering when she would get a fish.

"Well, you gotta be patient as well," Mako said as he placed his arms behind him and leaned back, knowing that the two of them would probably be sitting there, waiting for awhile. Nowadays he had gotten so used to waiting around, he would bring a book along to read. However, the company of a friend was always much more preferred.
"Be careful what you wish for, Kolora," Mako chuckled at her mentioning how she wanted to catch something huge, then teased her, "it must just pull ya into the ocean, heh. And I don't know how good of a swimmer you are, but I might just not save you!"
Onto the question on whether or not he was doing well, Mako thought about it for a moment as he looked into the corners of his eyes. To be honest, nothing was really new since he just got back to the town and that Kolora was the first person he got to see since he returned.
"Everything's great," Mako answered, "I just came back from my home village. I uh, go back there during the winter, in case you didn't know. Now that it's spring, I'm back! Now how about you? Anything happened while I was gone?"

Kolora hated waiting for long periods of time. That was probably why she always zoned out while fishing. Seeing that fishing wasn’t something that happened immediately there were many times when Kolora gave up just due to the fact that it took her far too long to catch anything. “That’s easier said than done.” she commented.
Her eyes grew looking at Mako in shock, “ Might?” she placed a hand over her heart just at the thought of her being in the water while Mako stood on land contemplating on if he should save her. “Well it’s a good thing I know how to doggy paddle since someone might not save me.” she shot Mako a playful glare before nudging him with his elbow.
Kolora gave a small nod, there were a lot of people that went back to their families during the winter. It was something that Kolora didn't do often. "Did you have a good time?" she asked yet another question, be far too curious about Mako's travels. But when asked if anything happened while he was gone the twenty-four year old looked off in a thought. It was silent for a moment before she decided to speak up, "it snowed a lot over here. It was so much snow" she began as her eyes twinkled with amusement. Sure it snowed in the city but it didn't compare to the amount here. "I made a snowman but no one came out to play with me." she finished in a childish manner. Even if she was twenty-four she still found playing in the snow to be fun.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=style, width:350px;,bTable] "Yes!" Mako nodded his head when asked whether or not he had fun back in Mizu Village. He loved his family and the clans who still lived there. Plus the weather was much warmer there than it was here during the winter. Mako couldn't really stand the cold, but this might be because he was forced to wear a thick jacket to combat the cold, which he didn't like of course.
"I never told you where I was from, did I? Mizu Village! It's a great island out in the sea. You'll like it, I think. I'll take you there some time!"
He made the offer, but never realized what it might have meant. His face flushed pink as the color of Kolora's hair when he thought about what his parents might think if he had brought someone like Kolora home. They would definitely make certain assumptions that would place him in an awkward spot. He shook off these thoughts and then turned back towards the nurse.
"Really? No one at all?" Mako tried to hold in his laughter after hearing about Kolora's winter adventures, then teasing her, "that's really hard to believe... maybe they just didn't like the way you built your snowman, I suppose. I'll have to see it myself next winter, if I stay that is..."
His eyes then traced the fishing line all the way out into the waters, watching it carefully for Kolora just in case she wasn't paying attention while talking to him.
"Ah look! I think you might have gotten something!"
