Elyse loved tending to flowers, and what better season to do that than in the spring time? Her duties at the ranch had already been tended to, and she had nothing else planned until mid-evening. Elyse couldn't think of a better way to spend her time than to walk along a flowery trail. While she loved flowers, she never picked any that had grown naturally in their own environment. Her flowers were all nurtured from seeds. She would never kill a flower and pluck it from its home. The thought was just horrible in her mind. Her walk along the path was a slow one, and she really was taking her dear, sweet time with it. The beautiful colors of spring were just so alluring. Elyse knelt down along the edge of the path to pull a snow white calla lily to her nose. Not too far off were some lavender hollyhocks. Strewn along the path, multi-colored tulips grew. As she stood up again, she gazed at the foliage around her. What a sight! Though something made her a bit saddened. Elyse walked farther up the path until she reached a newly created fork in the path. One was an obvious path created by years of foot traffic. The lake was a popular place to go so a path had been created. But the fork... trampled flowers and brush lay smashed into the ground. She could see the lake beyond through the break in the shrubs. Elyse sighed softly and knelt beside the trampled begonias. She lifted a stem and frowned. "How could someone do this to you?" A glance around told her that right around the corner from the true path lay the lake. But whoever did this was obviously impatient. "Paths are here for a reason..." she muttered. She had half a mind to go find who did this and give them a piece of her mind. |
