Charles family has hide ties with Sepalum since the olden days. His family has been record keepers, guarding over the olden tales and even donated a vast majority of their records to the City Hall Library alongside with taking care of their ranch. Charles' great-grandfather was the only one to break off ties with the family to go see the world and he brought back with him a great book filled with maps and legends, and one became his grandfather's obsession. It was a treasure that was said to lead it's holder to their happiness. It was a gem that when held up to the full moon would shine a light towards the direction of your dreams. His grandfather told him many stories about the treasure being somewhere on their home.
Charles is the first born of his family. As such, he was expected to take over the ranch and the family name and hopefully find some way to bring back the old sprites. Charles doesn't really like the idea of ranching, he was much more interested in following his great-grandfather's path. He even made plans to find the lost treasure and use it to find a way to restore their home and find their own happiness.
He lost his mother to sickness when he was 13 and it changed him quite a bit. He kind of became more closed off and more combative. Mostly because he and his father don't exactly see eye to eye and with no mother to buffer them, he tends to go off on his own to do research on the treasure he and his friends are after or by finding lost objects around Sepalum and returning them to their original owners.
