Pearl grew up in the city, the youngest of a handful of siblings. She was use to being the last one to get what she wanted and always received the short end of the stick. As such, she's grown rather complacent and orderly. The city life was too robust for her, so Pearl moved to the small town and quickly grew fond of mining. She found toiling away in the mines to be a rewarding job that gave her plenty of time to herself.

• Pearl is much more needy than she actually lets on and she is fully aware of this. She grew up use to essentially being handed anything but also being told what to do and how to do it. Being on her own is still a huge step for her. When people are particularly kind to her, she's prone to getting terribly attached, almost obsessively so - which is just one reason she prefers to keep to herself.
