( SARA FANEL )( TWENTY-THREE )( JEWELER )
( FRIENDS ) Sara is a fairly odd woman. For although she may appear to be charming and well-spoken, she's actually quite insecure and feels socially awkward when surrounded by large groups of people. Still, she puts on a brave face and caters to the townspeople with a smile. When she's feeling a bit overwhelmed, she'll barricade herself within her home and not emerge for a few days, just so that she can regain her bearings. Otherwise, she has absolutely no trouble establishing or maintaining relationships with most anyone.
( ENEMIES ) Although she goes out of her way to avoid stepping on anyone's toes, there will be those inevitable few that will find something about her that rubs them the wrong way. Whether it be her aloof attitude when she's having an off day, or a rival jeweler looking to steal away any business Sara might be earning, there's sure to be conflict somewhere over something. Be careful not to rouse her temper though, because despite being a tolerant individual for the most part, it's difficult to calm her once she's been provoked.
( ROMANCE ) I'm not entirely sure whether Sara would give the notion of romance any real though. Obviously she enjoys flirtatious banter as much as the next girl, but she finds the concept of settling down somewhat daunting. She enjoys her freedom, and thrives on being able to just up and move whenever and wherever her heart desires. So she either needs to find someone incredibly patient, or as spontaneous as she is.

thinking back to your pm i wanna make this work so much and that can easily be done! anyway, i'm not letting sara out of my sights 8)
especially since miss fanel is a witch of such ~sophistication and that would totally leave james in jitters. uh, polite jitters that is? while they really share an upbeat view on things there's no denying the fact he'd be very conscious of the way he acted around her even if he can't help a slight tactless streak. still, there's no question he'll try to be really polite. she's well-read and a jeweller as well! how much more classy can you get?
a fascinating thing is james and sara both share self-conscious streaks though which is really great! well, y'know what i mean 8( i haven't written up much in the app about it but james' links a lot to feelings of his self-worth and, more similarly to sara, ability. they kind of have a common ground here. however, i think given sara's tendency to withdraw from social responsibilities and james' total denial over anything means that their respective deals aren't something that would be exposed any time soon in interaction.
then again, a lot of this is just my rambling speculation 8(((! anyway, threading is the best way to get out a dynamic obviously but it's up to you if you wanna do it! given that james is pretty new to the island it's pretty easy to get out thread ideas with him. but i could definitely see respect and interest and a hand of friendship from james' end!

Alaric & Sara
Sooo, Sara apparently works at the jewelry shop!
Rosencrantz here is the shop owner. What their relationship is like right now would really depend on how long ago Sara came to Primula and how long she's been working at the shop, so I'll just detail some things that caught my eye in her app.
I find that Alaric and Sara are both somewhat similar in personality. They're both obsessive and don't like their belongings being touched. Alaric is more obsessive in the sense that he likes things done in a certain way, but he's also the type who'll forgo the more important things in life like eating or sleeping if he really wants to complete a task. They're also both curious and cultured people, although Alaric less in the sense of actually taking part in life and more in the sense of having read about it in books. They both enjoy reading. I find it interesting how they're both detached, but in somewhat different ways -- Alaric just doesn't know how to express emotion properly, while Sara feels wanderlust and isn't keen on settling down. Alaric's more of a stick-in-the-mud type of person.
I think that Sara's patience would definitely come in handy when dealing with Rosencrantz. He has that bad habit of saying things in a completely insensitive manner, not realizing that the way he words his sentences could hurt people, and that sometimes the truth just isn't all that nice. He likes facts and numbers and truth, and he really doesn't sugarcoat anything.
Like I said, I'm pretty sure that how they regard each other and all would really depend on how long Sara's been in Primula, since from then on we can figure out how long they've known each other and on how good terms they are. But I think we can figure out an interesting dynamic. c:

Depending on how much Callum knows Rosencrantz, maybe these two know eachother as well! While Callum wouldn't just hang out at the jewelry store (cuz he has his own business to tend to) if he was saying hi to Ros maybe he met Sara along the way? I noted it in my app a little but Callum...he'd a flirt. Not a very good one but he does it anyway. How would Sara react to a little harmless banter? Or maybe she frequents the tavern, who knows?! There are a bunch of ways to figure this out~

james & sara - honestly, i think that sara would find him very endearing. his peppy and upbeat approach to life is something that she'd be quite envious of. and although he can sometimes be a bit tactless and let slip a remark that might inspire some awkwardness, she wouldn't mind. she's incredibly tolerant of others and might even find that sort of clumsiness amusing. i can't see her being aware of the effect she has on him. haha. she's sort of oblivious to that sort of thing, but he's adorable in every way and she'd find his lightheartedness infectious and want to be around him all of the time. also, sara settled on the island about six or so years ago so she'd be more than willing to show him around or acquaint him with other people. she's rather popular because of her jewelery!
alaric & sara - can i just say that i absolutely adore him? his history is so incredibly tragic. but you're right in assuming that he and sara are shockingly similar. she's been settled in primula town for approximately six or seven years now, and began working in the shop about a year after her arrival. so they're bound to know one another quite well. she'd take his insensitive and blunt manner in stride. being the tolerant individual that she is, she'd be more likely to admire him for his intensity and intelligence than be offended by his stoic personality. they'd work incredibly well together, mostly because they're both equally dedicated to their craft and because they prefer similar working conditions. perhaps, over time, alaric has found reason to open up to sara? she's not someone to poke or prod for information or gossip and perhaps he appreciated that? they both seem like old souls - granted, sara has been alive quite a deal longer - and would be able to relate through issues that others might not be able to understand.
then again, there's also that desire to suddenly disappear one day without a word that might make alaric hesitate before forming any strong bond with her. an obstacle to overcome perhaps? anyway, let me know what you think of all this so we can figure out how exactly go about their relationship.
callum & sara - sara would find callum to be incredibly charming! and since she and alaric are on very familiar terms, i can't see how she and callum wouldn't have met through him. any flirtatious advances on his part would be well-received by sara and she'd happily return the sentiments. she'd probably visit the tavern occasionally to say hi to him when she's on her break. or they could just run into one another in town somewhere.
or perhaps she gets lost in the woods one day and he happens by and rescues her, all knight-in-shining-armor like. and he takes her back to the tavern after it's been closed and gives her something warm to drink/eat. it'd be so adorable!

Ohohohoho I really like this idea, even if he's supposed to be a horrible ladies man. While he's a sarcastic little butthole he's not completely bad. I mean, he's a nice guy with a bit of a pessimistic streak, so this would be totally within his bounds.
BUT YES alkjds it sounds cute. Maybe he was visiting Mallory or something (the off chance that he would) or he needed to go out there to...um...do something. Maybe he was just out there. But I like this and we should definitely do this thread posthaste!

Alaric & Sara
Ah, I'm very glad you like him. <3 And I'm glad you agree that they are quite similar! I think they'll be quite a lot of fun to thread together. Overall, Alaric has much more reason to like and respect her than he has to distrust her, so I could see him being marginally more relaxed in Sara's presence. She's been a part of his life for quite a while, after all, and I could, in fact, seeing him open up around her. While he isn't one to talk about himself at all, he might be inclined to answer a question or two if she ever happens to ask him. I could see them having some interesting, mentally stimulating conversations, and yes, I could see them being able to relate to and understand each other due to their apparent status as old souls. In Rosencrantz's case, it might be more on an intuitive level than on a level that he is able to verbally or explicitly say out loud, because he's awful when it comes to things like that, but his implicit perception of her would still be there. If this all makes sense, orz.
They'd make a good team. While Alaric is the owner, he mostly concerns himself with duties in the back, like managing accounts and stocks and the like, since he's not that keen on interacting with people. They both prefer working alone, and they're both efficient, so they'd get quite a lot done with their combined efforts and I swear I was going somewhere with this but I managed to lose my trail of thought, oops.
tl;dr Good work relationship, understand each other pretty well all things considered, overall on quite good terms with one another. Alaric recognizes her urge to simply leave one day, but he most likely doesn't bring it up in conversation unless she happens to do it. It does impede on his ability to put his full trust in her, but he feels that it's something he wouldn't mind at all, even if that's not entirely true, so he simply avoids thinking about it.
Do you have anything you'd like to add or work out more, or anything else to say in general about these two? <3

callum & sara - omg i agree! let's do this as soon as possible. just let me know who should start us off and we'll get to it.
alaric & sara - no, i think we've covered pretty much all of what we can for now. we could start with one of them having fallen asleep in the shop and the other stumbling over them in the early morning hours? that way they'd have some time to talk before customers began to file in. unless you had another idea? i love these two already and am very excited to write them!
