[atrb=valign, top] Classrooms were the same no matter where you were. There would always be the teacher standing at full attention at the front of the classroom, their backs turned to the class as they slowly explained the lesson. There would be the good students that sat in the front, diligently taking notes and asking questions when they saw necessary. They would always be the first to enter and the last to leave. Then there was the middle of the room, filled with all of the people who were just as smart but perhaps much lazier.
And then there were always the students who sat in the back simply because they could have cared less about the establishment. They were only there because they had to be. They'd be the last to show up, but the first to leave. And they usually were the ones that got called on the most because they fell asleep. But for all the students, one thing always stayed the same. And that was that for the most part, there was always that one lesson that bored most everyone to tears. And unfortunately for the students that attended Primula's one and only established school, today they had to endure one of the aforementioned lessons.
A yawn escaped parted lips, the teen's eyes half lidded as he watched the teacher continue. It was the afternoon class, meant for the older students that live in Primula. After all, they couldn't teach children in a class for high schoolers. If he thought school was terrifying then, he couldn't imagine what it would have been like if he had to endure something like that. Vivian slumped over his desk, elbow resting against the surface and his hand propping up his head. Boring. Violet eyes lifted to stare intently at the clock as if to make the seconds hand move faster. Maybe if he looked for long enough, it would be lunch. Or if he looked even harder then maybe school would let out for the day.
Vivian sighed, leaning back in his chair before he crossed his arms over his chest. He looked around, trying to seek if there was anyone who was asleep. He wouldn't have been surprised if they were. But for whatever reason, they never got called out on it. Which in his opinion was hardly fair. He always got called out on it. But maybe that was because he was one of those bad students that sat all the way in the back. He wondered what would happen if he sat in front. Was it going to be easier to stay awake? All the really smart people sat up front so maybe he'd absorb the information better. Skye sat up front so maybe if he sat in front with her, they'd be closer friends? Agh, no. There was no way. He'd probably end up embarrassing himself. She'd probably think he was stupid or something.
He wondered what she was doing. Was she taking notes too or was she just as bored as the rest of them? He leaned over in his chair, trying to see if he could even manage to catch a glimpse of the girl from where he was in the back of the class. It was always a bit hard considering how the rows and desks were positioned in the classroom. But he could every now and then see her. He adjusted his glasses, leaning a bit further before the chair slipped out from beneath him and the teen landed on the floor with a loud thump. The various other students turned to look at him, his eyes wide as he stared intently at the ground. Almost afraid to look up as pink colored his cheeks.
Uh oh. "Did you need something, Mr. Laroche? Because you seem to want everyone's attention." Uh. He turned his head slowly, the color growing brighter. He merely shook his head, opening his mouth to speak only to find himself biting down too hard onto his tongue. Ow, ow, ow ... he scrambled to get off the ground, dusting off his pants before he sat back down and dropped his head onto his desk. He crossed his arms over his head, his cheeks burning with embarrassment. It felt like an eternity before the bell rang and released all the students for lunch time though Vivian resisted moving from his spot. Stupid, stupid, stupid! How embarrassing. Just kill him already. Ugh.

Despite the fact that he wasn't the best student, school was always pretty fun for Dill. He had a lot of friends and there was always someone to talk to no matter where he ended up sitting. The classes in Primula were different than classes in cities with bigger school systems, or so he'd heard. Small schools like the one he was currently in hardly even existed anymore. But it was pretty fun, now that he was older. His classes were all later in the day so that just meant he got to sleep in later. Score.Today he ended up sitting near the back, though not as far back as his friend Vivian. Though there was a few years between the boys, they had still become rather close friends. They were a bit of an odd pair, but it worked out for them so Dill wasn't going to start complaining. He loved to have friends, and age, species or gender didn't really stop him from wanting to befriend someone. The lesson today was so boring though. He hated it! Sometimes class was kind of fun, especially if they did group work or didn't have to listen to a teacher prattle on. But nope, today was going to be straight lecture with questions and it was going to be horrible. Still, he was going to muscle through! He had to, after all. Thankfully he was sitting by a friend and they were writing small notes to each other on Dill's notepad while the teacher wasn't looking. But a loud thump near the end of class startled everyone, and the entire class looked back to see Vivian Laroche sprawled out on the floor, his face visibly red though he was trying to hide it. Dill couldn't help but snicker, even though he felt bad for his friend. He knew Viv wasn't a fan of school and having all of the attention drawn to him was probably hell. Plus, it had drawn the attention of everyone, including Skye Quinn. When the bell rang he sprang up from his seat, excited to be able to eat lunch finally. Lunch was his absolute favorite part of the day. And that wasn't just because he sat with Viv who would sometimes bring the most delicious sweets in. When he reached the door, though, he realized Vivian was still in his spot. Smirking he turned around and made his way back to his friend's seat, patting his back slightly. "Hey, Viv...did you have a nice trip? I wasn't expecting to see you 'till next fall!" Sure, it might have been a tasteless and completely stupid pun. And it wasn't really the time for that. But Dill couldn't help himself sometimes, especially when the moment was practically begging for it.

School was shit.
A small moan came from the girl's pressed lips, a look of pure regret and misery painted gloomily across her exhausted face. Her chin was pressed against the small wooden desk and her lips and nose were covered by her small, crossed arms.
Why the hell did she sign up for this?
Maxine's heavy eyelids lowered and slowly rose, she fought a yawn as the teacher continued to drone on and on and on and on and on. She knew classes were going to be far from a joy ride, but this bad? Good goddess curse her a thousand times over before this, please.
She was one of the youngest in the varied class...um well at least superficially speaking. She was tested when she, ahem, applied to the place and man what an awkward scheduled that gave her. English with the babies, magic with the slightly older babies, history tested out completely (living through the majority of the topics seemed to help quite a bit). In retrospect she probably should have like...rigged her results or something? Made herself act more like a twelve year old. Or wait, was she fourteen now? Thirteen? No, not thirteen, she hated thirteen, such a gross number.
A long sigh came from the girl as she scowled upon her desk. Oh she was so going to murder that wizard when she finally got her hands on him.
Then she was so going to snog that math teacher.
Yes, snogging, was that what it was called these days? Whatever, it sounded so wonderful, so warm and vitalizing, her lips against another's, their breath pouring into her, their skin soft and ticklish. A smile, hidden by her forearms, spread across the witches lips as she fantasized the act. Her eyelids slowly fell.
There was a loud thud.
Thankfully she kept her startled self under control, her eyes the only thing to leap upwards as a violet-haired boy, Vivian, was it? Collapsed to the cold floor below.
"Did you need something, Mr. Laroche?" The teacher asked, goddess she needed to loosen up. "Because you seem to want everyone's attention."
Says the woman who did nothing but preach at them for the past forty minutes.
The class groaned again as the class laughed as customary. The lesson went on but it was very much a blur. And then the bell rang, Maxine stood up, was it lunch time? Her stomach groaned the answer. Yes, it was very much lunch time.
At least the food was good.
She stood up, yawning with a cat-like stretch, before beginning to gather her things and make the long trek from the back of the room to the door. Yes, the food was good and fairly cheap to boot.
She passed the poor violet haired boy and his friends. "Hey, Viv...did you have a nice trip? I wasn't expecting to see you 'till next fall!"
Wowwwww, really? In an obviously judgmental demeanor Maxine’s eyebrows rose at the comment, a chuckling, equally judgmental sigh escaping her lips as she walked past.
To be honest, it sounded sorta like something the wizard would have said.
Damn that wizard.
